Looking for Some Closed Foot Cigars

So, I'm looking for some closed foot cigars. I tend to really enjoy a closed foot and I want to add a few to my regular rotations. Currently, I only have the AJ Last Call Flaquitas in my rotation. And I listed the ones I can remember off the top of my head, at the bottom of the thread. While I am interested in any, I am mostly looking for some that have the below criteria:
  • Churchill or Lancero. I know a closed foot Lancero is a long shot; still hopeful though.
  • A 52 ring gauge Churchill would be nice too!
  • Nicaraguan tobacco, as I tend to gravitate towards it. This one is not a must have though.
  • Up to around the $8.00 mark; if I can find something for a bit less great. Lanceros would be an exception to the cost criteria.
  • Must be readily available. I'm looking to add these into my rotation, so I don't want to jump through hoops for them. Again, any Lanceros would be excluded for this one.

I know the below lines have closed foots:
Most Kristoffs
AJ Fernandez Last Call
Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch
JFR Lunatic
Charter Oak
Some RomaCrafts
Taino
Some Tatuaje

I think out of the above lines, Kristoff is the only with a closed foot Churchill size. I'm focusing mainly on a Churchill size for my gaming session smoke. I don't want to stop in the middle of playing a game and light up another cigar as much. That is especially an issue with online games.

Thanks for any recommendations!

I have recently purchased some La Gloria Cubana Rabito de Cochino that has a shaggy foot. It comes in a double corona format, so it may be thinner than what you are looking for, but it is worth a try in my opinion. I think pretty highly of this cigar.

I may try those La Gloria Cubanas, though I have not been a fan of the LGCs I've had in the past. They never really fit my tastes.

Just came across this but thinking you might have better luck in the B/S/T forum?

Hmm, I'm not looking to purchase on CP, so this seemed like the best place to put this. I'm looking for info; not really where to buy.

I have closed foot/pigtail Cazadores (6 3/4 X 43)-$130/25 and Shagfoot/pigtail 1966's (6 1/2 X 52)-$150/25 in World Famous format. John

The Tatuaje Petite Cazadores Reserva have been my favorite closed foot cigar, and the best part is the flavor off the closed foot.

It's like whipped cream on top of a shake, only the flavor was very milk chocolaty.

You can find them for at most $5 a pop too.

Closed feet light the same for the most part, you obviously just have to get past the wrapper section first.

So I haven't really been on CP since after I made this post, to reply. Been working from home since about mid-March due to the corona virus, which I've actually been quite a bit more busy lately. Finally had time to sit down and work on some projects I had shelved since the end/beginning of the year. So much easier to focus when you're not sitting in meetings talking about work that needs to be done, instead of actually doing the work, or putting out User "initiated fires".

Anyways, I've had a chance to try some of the recommended smokes.
They are fantastic. So worth $8. Trust me...

I bought a fiver of the Toro and Torpedos back in March. They came in the weekend of our Pheasants Forever banquet in March. Ended up smoking them back to back that weekend. I had to try one that Friday and enjoyed it so much, it made a great cigar to come home form the banquet and enjoy! I was burning through those ten fairly quickly, so I picked up another fifteen when Atlantic had a sale. I would have bought a whole bundle, but they were out of stock. Thank you for that recommendation, they are as good as you say! These will be in my rotation now.

I also had a chance to try these. I had one on Easter Sunday, since it was nice enough to sit outside here that weekend. I enjoyed it, it was good cigar for after a great meal! I may pick up a few of these to have on hand.

Out of curiosity, what do you like about the closed foot? It's something I've never given much consideration, so I'm probably missing the point of a closed foot.

Primarily, I like the initial burst of flavor from the extra wrapper at the foot. I also find them much easier to get a good uniform light in windy conditions. As I do the vast majority of my smoking on my front or back porch during the spring, summer and fall, this is a nice benefit. Because it seems every time I go to light a cigar, mother nature blows in my face! It could be on the hottest and most humid day, where there hasn't been a breeze all day long that as soon as I go to light a cigar, the wind just kicks up. Plus I like the look of a closed foot. All in all; just personal taste really.

You are very welcome. Glad you liked them.
