This is a general topic thread on the COVID-19 vaccine. Are you getting it? Why? Maybe not? Why not? Let me state this clearly before we get started...

THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL PLATFORM! Cigarpass does not do well with political views. Keep those to yourself. We want to know, only if you want to discuss it, why you chose or didn’t choose to take the vaccine.

Back it by research, post articles, or base it on your own opinion from your surroundings or what is going on within your city/state (this will be a civilized discussion gentlemen and one lady). Everyone is allowed their own opinion. BE MINDFUL TO RESPECT OTHER’SES DECISIONS. We are not here to dissuade or persuade, as much as inform the uninformed that may read and periodically post here.

IF YOU TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM THIS POST, LISTEN NOW: this post is primarily for information purposes. It is to either help people understand why, why not, or encourage them to research themselves. Keep it to an informative level, if people respond 😉 Also, don’t you be a bully now.

I will get it eventually. It's not even offered here for us locally, yet. I mean, the Dutch have their own supply, of course, but us dirty 'Mericans have to fend for ourselves. Some of the DoD folks have gone to the base clinic at Geilenkirchen AB in Germany, but civs aren't eligible for that, yet. The embassy is not going to offer it until they can procure enough for everyone (staff). I'm not sure what brand will be offered, either. With all the unhealthy shit I've willingly (and sometimes unwillingly) subjected myself to, I'm not sure how seriously any whining about "side effects" I can do should really be taken...

I will get it when available. I'm not worried about myself, honestly, as I rarely leave the house aside from walking the dog. However, with spring and summer coming up I'm sure there will be more outings. I'm more concerned about possibly passing it on to others, to be honest. What can I say -- I'm a helper. Selfishly, if a "vaccination passport" allows for greater travel mobility, I want to be able to go help stimulate world economy as quickly as we can. I miss traveling.

No! I don't trust what's been rushed through and don't trust what the long term side effects will be. If I post "evidence", someone else will post counter "evidence", which is exactly the problem.

I believe if YOU think it's the right thing to do, do it. If not, don't. Masks, well, yea right. I'd get a "break" for what I'd say about them.

I believe bourbon and seegars kill 99.9% of all germs that come around me. I'll continue down that path until they don't. Then Michelle will cremate me and scatter me into the four winds. Until then, ...........

If it would help keep my computers from getting a virus, I would take it... If I had interaction with the elderly, I would take it... If my wife was vulnerable (or in the higher risk category) I would take it... If it would help my golf game, I would seriously consider it... But... since I am healthy, and in the lowest risk category, I will wait to see if the early adopters (like my dad) will grow an extra appendage, or become susceptible to other illnesses, and appreciate the massive 3rd stage clinical trials the “pioneers” are giving us.

Wait, there's a possibility of growing a limb? :O

Had my first shot of Moderna last Friday. As a teacher, even down here at the ass end of the highway in Texas, once the HHS added us to the priority list there was only a 12 hour wait time between my signing up online & getting my vaccination appointment via text message.

The Biden administration has literally purchased enough vaccine for every human in America & is on track to blow their "100M in 100 Days" goal out of the water by close to 50% over. Anyone who doesn't have theirs by summer is just dragging their heels!

Not to get political here, but 1 in 5 Americans think the sun revolves around the earth and something like 1 in 4 think the earth is only 6,000 years old. I'm just gonna hazard a guess that science is not really our strong suit in this country & anyone that goes all anti-vaxxer on this is getting the 🤨 from me as to which of those OTHER groups they might belong in. 😂

I just wanna eat in a restaurant & hug my grandniece again. Safely.

OK, I will play, since your practically begging for it... First, just because I or others do not agree with your view on this subject does not mean we are ant-vaxxer's or in some other group that you want to group us in that is anti-science or somehow less intelligent. Actually it's quite the opposite, there is NO science for this vaccine as it pertains to long term affects. Second, others not getting the vaccine does not keep you from going to a restaurant or seeing your family. If you believe masks work and you believe enough in the vaccine that you condemn others who won't take it, then surely if you do both you are safe to do as you please. Third, insulting everyone that disagrees with you by implying they are cavemen is simply rude and uncalled for. you're on a forum with people from all walks of life with different opinions, get over yourself!!!
