Today's Smoke 2021

How was it?

This is a great cigar after 12 years... lots of chocolate, and for some reason very nutty...

I can only really comment on the first half of the cigar, which started out pretty great. Lots of cedar, as should be expected from a tubo. The draw was about perfect, which I was pleasantly surprised about, considering that it took several days open in the dry box just to be able to get the cigar out of the tubo! My neighbor popped over from the other side of the yard when I was only about halfway through, and my attention wained from the stick as our dogs beat each other up and conversation ensued. I even had to relight once or twice. I did end up smoking it down until my lips burned, though.

First word that came to mind was "dark!" Flavor very deep, dark, strong, in a good way. Retrohaling this thing (something I'm just getting good at) made me shake my head like a dog does when he wakes up (which amused My Lovely Wife to no end). Whew! Draw was pretty tight and it canoed a bit, but cleared up about halfway. Next one I think I'll dry box a bit longer (this one went from a 70% TEC unit to a 62% ziploc for 24 hours only). Very nice smoke, though.

I’ll update with box codes when I’m back over that way. On tap for tonight:

-H. Upmann Sir Winston (thanks for this tremendous one, Bill!)
-PLPC
-Trinidad Reyos (thx Paul!)
-Cheap Dominican Overrun

7 years on that SW puts it in the mild/medium category, I would smoke that one first, and enjoy the subtle nuances they are so famous for...

That's the plan! Going to be able to join in tonight?
