Dunhill getting out of the pipe tobacco business?

What's going on... I took a break from pipes for about a year, and decided to get back into the hobby and I find out first McClelland shuts their doors and isn't willing to sell the company, and now Dunhill is getting out of the pipe and cigar business to focus on "luxury cigarettes". WTF???

No more Dunhill Nightcap I guess.

That sucks to hear. Perhaps the pipe market is just shrinking? I can't say I'm helping in that regard. I have numerous pipes and a ton of blends but I only smoke my pipes once every blue moon.

They’re still making pipes, it’s just the tobacco division shutting down. Rumor has it Standard Tobacco will release a version of them under a different name in 2019.

Any leads on some Nightcap? It is my all time favorite and I want to grab a few more tins before they go the way of the dodo, if they haven't already.

Yo Santa, there are a few tins on ebay, but be prepared to pay at least $40.

Thanks B.

Your such a nice young man. Santa will be sure to take good care of you this year.

yup. saw that. I only have a few stored. Funny thing is in a few years $40 might be considered a bargain.

Is there factoring of government contracts?

The state in this sense acts as an ordinary legal entity, so you can easily, do government contract factoring. I own a small factory for the production of toothpicks, I have never received a state order. When I first discovered the factoring service, I was very pleased. These agencies helped me avoid bankruptcy, if not for them, I had remained without raw materials and without employees. Once, we received a large order which we carried out, but under the terms of the contract payment is only a month after receipt of goods

Since recreational marijuana was legalized in America, the tobacco business has ceased profitable. Many smokers have decided to replace cigarettes by smoking a joint in the evening. I had my own business in America to produce cigarettes with a unique brand of tobacco. But it has become unprofitable due to recent events in the United States. I decided to make a business emigration to Belgium to implement my business in Europe. Belgium turned out to have the most favorable conditions for this type of emigration, and my business almost immediately began to make a profit in this country.

Just to keep things interesting...

Not sure this is old news but Nightcap must have made a comeback since 2018.

By the way are the bots talking and sharing opinions now? It looks like we are watching the birth of skynet, or some version of self awareness.

Yikes!

Peterson bought the rights and many recipes from Dunhill. They use the old labels so everything looks pretty much identical other than the brand. I’ve never had the chance to try any dunhill tobacco, but if what everyone says is true (that the originals are better than Peterson) I’m sure its amazing. The Peterson renditions are great IMO.

They do the same thing on my snowboarding forum. They post something initially that is relevant to the post topic, then go back in last and edit the post/add a link.

I don't taste a difference. And agree the Peterson blends are good to go.

Ok boys, so let's say I was going to get back into it. What would be your favorite pipe tobacco?
