Desperation repair job

I posted in the "Unhappy" thread yesterday that I had discovered a huge crack in a cigar I was gifted 15 years ago when I joined here. Today I decided to fix it and smoke it even if I had to put duct tape on it. But I found what I hope will be a more appealing fix.

I'm happy to say that the cigar smoked exceptionally well! And it was a very very good cigar to boot.

As it turned out, about the time I got to the patch I had let the cigar go out and the relight wasn't great. I threw it out.

I'm just happy I got to finally smoke that cigar and enjoy it.

You got the actual name brand pectin glue... AKA, in English! I love that stuff when saliva just won't do. I also buy loose leaf of just about everything in my quest for World's Worst Gringo Torcedor.

It comes in handy when doing repairs in being able to snip what I need... sometimes I'm even lucky enough to have similar/same wrapper as the original. My first ever hecho a mano attempt was at a plantation in the D.R. Ever seen a DE Larutan Egg??

Yeah, after that little embarrassment, I swore I'd never roll another pregnant-with-twins cigar again! Stalk cut and primings are actually quite affordable and provide your home with amazing aromas that are very different and way more pungent than our sticks:

How's everyone else's rolling techniques around here? The videos of the Grand Master Torcedors blow my mind..

One last note.

I was stunned when I went back to the cigar leaf an hour after I took it off the "Leaf by Oscar" cigar. It was dry as a bone and literally disintegrated in my hands. I ran a peice under hot water and it immediately became supple again.

It's winter and my whole house humidifier is set to 35% but that was very interesting!

I would definitely consider rolling my own. Seems the next thing I will try when I get some good tobacco.
