So I'll be in Vegas at the end of August, for VMware Explore. I think I'll have some time to stop at a lounge or two and would like some recommendations. Not sure if I'll have a rental car, as I hate city driving with a passion. The conference is at the Venetian; so the closer the better. Any shops that are a must see; now that Casa Fuente has closed? It would be great to find a place that I could walk to and smoke a cigar or two.

Also, any tips in general for Vegas are welcomed. I have never been there before, so tips for how to dress for the heat would also be welcomed. I sweat.....alot......so I am NOT looking forward to that dang heat. Good restaurants worth checking out? Not looking for anything that's $200 a plate, but like which buffets are worth it or which sit down ones are worth considering?

Anything else?

The heat will be crazy that time of year. Even at night it will be very hot, you can feel the heat intensely radiating out the concrete. If you are into sports and/or sports betting, Circa ( a fairly new property) is the place to be, and it is very cigar friendly. A good friend of mine who is a BOTL has been to Circa several times, and told me how much he loves to smoke there. You can smoke at the Legacy Club (rooftop lounge), on the casino floor and at the lounge by the entrance /next to the casino floor (Vegas Vickies). You can also smoke in areas at their Megasportsbook, although I don't recall much about it. The pool is not cigar friendly unless you have a private cabana, which I am sure is available for one low, low price, or not. Also, seeing a show in The Sphere is supposed to be quite the experience.

I would provide more tips, but sadly it has been over 10 years since I was last there.
