Hey guys,
Well I got a 4 pack of Trinidad’s in a tin with my last order. Popped the tin open this is what i saw. At first glance I thought bloom but I’ve never seen bloom on the foot of a cigar. Click the pics to enlarge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

Looksl ike mold to me. The few times I have been lucky enough to see bloom it has been very even, not "clumpy" lik ein these pictures. That said, closer-up, hgiher res pictures would be helpful, but it doesn't look good.

Looks like mold to me too. Send them back. Any retailer worth doing business with should have no problem paying for shipping both ways and returning good cigars to you.

Thanks guys. I sent a email to the vendor with the pics attached. Well see what they say.

Edited for spelling.

....mold.

I made a very recent purchase from a FL vendor that included some small cigars in tins, and they arrived very moldy. Not sure if it's something with tins, but there was no mistaking the stench of mold on all the cigars in those two tins. Some had the characteristic "blue hair" much like the photos you have here.

I've had two mold experiences this summer so far. Bad combination of moist cigars and hot conditions while in transit.....

I think it might be the tins. I had other gars in the order that were just fine.

I agree it's mold, but I have a question. I've read some on the topic and what I've read is that once a cigar sports mold on it, it's done and should be thrown away. My brother has a small humdidor and a couple of his cigars had some mold spots on them. I told him they were toast and should be removed from the humidor before the mold spreads to the other sticks.

Anyway, one of the cigars he tossed was a cuban that he had for quite a while. I was just wondering, did I give him good advice, or should he blame me for making him throw away a cuban cigar with some mold on it?

If the mold isnt to bad aka looks like the whole thing is a moldy dog turd, I would smoke it. Brush off the best ya can and goto town on it. If you dont like it, can always toss it then but without trying you will never know if the mold hurt the cigar or not.

I've been told to brush it off and smoke it now! Imagine what my enemies would tell me to do!!!

Definatly isolate it from the rest of my smokes.
