Isolation is definitely key; you don't want it to spread to the rest of your cigars. And wherever it was previously kept, you should keep a close eye on the rest of the cigars to see if any of the others sprout mold also.I agree it's mold, but I have a question. I've read some on the topic and what I've read is that once a cigar sports mold on it, it's done and should be thrown away. My brother has a small humdidor and a couple of his cigars had some mold spots on them. I told him they were toast and should be removed from the humidor before the mold spreads to the other sticks.
Anyway, one of the cigars he tossed was a cuban that he had for quite a while. I was just wondering, did I give him good advice, or should he blame me for making him throw away a cuban cigar with some mold on it?
I've been told to brush it off and smoke it now! Imagine what my enemies would tell me to do!!!
Definatly isolate it from the rest of my smokes.

And I too would vote for just brushing it off and smoking it. Worst thing that could happen is that the mold affected the taste of the cigar adversely and you would have to toss it. But if it was just on the surface, there is a good chance that it won't have done anything bad to the taste of the cigar.
So for future reference, smoke first toss later.
