I can't believe this happened. :0

I ordered a box of Af King B from Tampasweet Hearts and let them sit for about a month before I tried them. I was advised to check the cigars for signs of sap by a number of members from this board, and apparently checking just two cigars was not enough.

Tiny pin-points of sap on virtually the whole damn box of cigars under each cedar sleeve.

It also turned out that I dropped my blue Xikar lighter today and it is busted to all hell and considering that this was my first day back at college, I'd say this is about the most disappointing day I've had regarding cigars since I don't know when.

I still smoked the King B

Second mistake.

Horrible burn, ashy taste, and the wrapper kept on getting stuck to my fingers. Only taste developed toward the end, but the smoke was too hot to get anything on my tongue except this horrific heat.

And too top this peachy day off I found out that my younger brother just got two boxes of special cigars in the mail.

I feel sick. The only bright spot is that I chose to smoke a Jose Pepin Garcia that Doc sent me. This was a nice spicy surprise that washed the foul taste of the King B from my mouth. I sat there on my deck and drank 3-fingers worth of GlenLivet 12yo while smoking Doc’s cigar. I feel like I can breath fire with this spice coming from my mouth and I just might if this day gets any better.

It seems as though these King B's are hit or miss. I have had several (5) and all have been enjoyable smokes. Sorry to hear about you cutter. Have another glass of the good stuff, and order a new cutter from Mark at Cigarmony. :whistling:

That is disappointing about the King B. I've enjoyed the few I have had, so give them another shot. About your Xikar lighter, if it has the same warranty as the cutters I think you should be able to send it back and get a replacement. I don't know that for sure, but certainly worth looking into.

damn, sorry for you luck, i've never tried a king b but i had my xikar cutter bust open under normal usage, it just popped open! i got it back together in about 5mins but it was a rough and frustrating.

I've smoked a sappy King B and I still really enjoyed it!
Perhaps a trade is in order!

I've had the fortune of enjoying every King B that I've smoked as well. Only one was covered in sap and it wasn't a big deal for me.

Still to this day I think the King B should be called King Shit. Because that is what this stick is. I've had better dog rockets that have more class than the B. If you let one sit out for a day or 2, its supposed to make the cigar really nice and burn great. I did let one sit out for 6 hours and it did have a decent burn but still sucked in taste profile. I still have 3 left from when I got them from OpusXKC. Some like them and some hate them.

I was looking to buy one at Leaf and Ale, and the manager was like "why would you want to smoke a bad SG Beli?"

They were out anyways, but that seems to be good advice.

I just picked up a King B on my last trip to the B&M. Sounds like I'm either gonna really love it or really hate it. If I get the chance, I will fire it up in the next few days and post my comments. But, the King B is a bigger cigar than I usually have the time for, so it might be a while.

I smoked one last night and really enjoyed it.
Sorry yours wasn't good :(

I'm in the King B likers camp. There aren't too many of us. People tend to LOVE them or HATE them. I like 'em. Good smokes. Have a few, would buy more at the right price...but I've fallen into the deep end of the dark side lately.

I've only had two, but I am also in the liker's camp. However, I did have burn issues with both. Still, I think it is a good cigar.

Are there any other cigars that Fuente makes with the sap problem (or anyone for that matter). What would make them different from the Cuban Belis or perhaps the Anejo line? I have not had a problem with either of those.

A cigar line with this many problems would have never been released by Padron. It's as if Fuente cared more about cashing in on the hype that the King B's were generating and not caring about the quality of the product. Cha-ching! $$$$

FWIW - I had a Double Chateau Fuente the other night (with some down time on it) and sure enough, it appeared to have "sap spots" on it from the cedar sleeve. Didn't seem to affect the smoke, at all; smoked great, actually.....

FWIW - B.B.S.

I have had 1 bad one and 1 good one! I am in between! I have few more I just think you really need to let them age? My $.02

Wow,

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I've only had one or two King B's and they've both drawn well and been dquite tasty. In fact, I think it was Rob300C who gave me the last one I smoked.
