Hi guys,

I just found out about a brand of Mexican cigars called "Miranda." Apparently this brand is not distributed in America. I'd like to get a hold of a box simply because Miranda is my daughter's name as well. The only reference I've been able to find is on this defunct board here.

If any of our European brethren could point me to a source or help procure a box for me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Wilkey -

Sent you a PM with a possible source.

I don't much like to admit it, but it was a Mexican Puro, smoked on the Zocalo in Oaxaca a while back that got me back, and more seriously, into cigar smoking.

:)

Thanks for the lead, Tig. I'll check them out.

Tig, there's so much more to smoking a cigar than just the rolled up leaves sticking out of one's mouth. You really seem to be able to build an experience around a cigar.

I find that fire helps. :p

Somewhere in between that sunny, wonderful moment on the plaza and now, I lost sight of that and was smoking for the sake of smoking. It's nice to have gotten it back in the last year or so. :)

I concur with Sunward, BTW...

Isn't strange that the cigar market is arranged in a way that you have to go all the way to Europe to find a cigar produced just a stones throw away? :whistling:

Thanks for the lead, Shawn. I think it's ok for you to scrub your post if you like.

Symyn,
I think that's Swiss Francs so it'd be a bit less in dollars.

Thanks Drew, I appreciate it.

MarkTwain, yep. It certainly is strange. Apparently the unique taste of Mexican cigars suits Europeans but not Americans in general.

You are right about the Francs. :) Good luck with your search, I can't wait to read the review!

What review? These are going into storage for posterity.
They are called Miranda, don't you guys read? ;)

Forgive us Miranda, we would never smoke your name

I checked some bigest Polish internet cigar shops and some auction portals - no track of Mirandas :/

Like I said bro, that Swiss site has them but the fuggers only will sell me a box.

My Mexican friend said he now works in CA but will look when he goes home on vacation for Christmas.

And I'll look around at the Casa del Puro on Friday and see what I can find. :)
