Opus x

B&M (bricks and mortar) refers to the actual physical space of the tobacco shop. You'll often hear folks discussing the virtues of supporting their local B&M versus supporting online retailers, for example.

As far as searching for Opus, if you can't find them just look for the list of Fuente cigars for sale and there may be a list of Opus included amoung all the others.

Here in CA there's a 45% tobacco tax  which drastically increases the sales price over MSRP on all cigars, but especially on hard-to-find cigars. There are other states that sell tobacco without the high tax penalty. Other options include buying from online retailers, but few if any charge near MSRP (hoping to avoid the capitalism argument). IMHO... don't feed the online retailers that charge ridiculously high prices for hard-to-find cigars, don't even buy a single, as tempting as it may be.

The best option is just to stick around this board and you may find a generous BOTL who offers a 5er of Opus or some other such hard-to-find. When you see a deal come up...don't wait...pounce! :D

edited to add: you can always check prices for Opus with this link there's a few other comments I could make about buying from established members of this board, etc.. but maybe another member will chime in with thoughts. :D :whistling: here Gary, Gary, Gary...

Plaza Book and Smoke in Boardman, Ohio will have boxes for sale on occasion. They are a few bucks over retail on their prices, but they always seem to have them in stock. Here is their site Linky.

Good luck.

What did you do call them, I only see single stick sales? Or, am I missing something on the web page?

I talked to a guy mike there. He said they do not sell boxes. He told me they will on occasion sell the whole box amount minus the actual box. Damn! Call me picky but, for that kind of money I want the box too. They had a couple of Belicosos and that was about it. :(

Thanks for the input. How'd you like the trip to Paris? Seemed like there was a Tabac shop on every corner huh? The only place I have ever been to where you can light up a stoge outside at a Cafe and no one gives you a dirty look.

No, serously, hopefully no one thinks I am trying to jump out way to soon. Just curious is it something that someone decides one day? "Well I think you have been a good newbie, let's make you a official member today." Something like that?? (no rudeness intended....

Paris is a great city. Tabac's are on every corner, but a Civette is where you'll find the best stock of cigars. A really good shop is the George V... they had a decent selection. As far as lighting up goes... I'm American and get dirty looks anyway so smoking a cigar didn't bother me at all. :D

Just stick around and follow a really simple rule: Read more and post less

If you have a question use the 'search' to find your answer, or just PM a FOG. You'll figure it out.

Here's another useful link Maybe one of these fine BOTL's will even include an Opus in your deal... have fun

I did buy a box for 10% discount below their per stick price, and it was in the box. I called the Boardman shop... I posted a pic in the 'what've you bought lately' thread
