My favorite cigar band and why.

I also like the La Gloria Cuban and the Bolivar bands. Something about that yellow.
 
Theres something elegant about that Gold VSG band I really like. I also have to agree with everyone else, Opus, ESG, and DCM.

I don't know why, but I really like the Cuban Partagás label for their cheap little tubos, the Deluxe. It has a simple, understated old school look that makes the cigar look like it could just as easily have been from 1955 as 2005.

I like no band. They are a waste of paper, they serve no purpose IMO other than ....................... no, they serve NO purpose. The box tells you what they are, although I guess if you buy singles then they are identification.


Pretty bands just give someone another marketing tool and excuse to charge more for the product. Are you listening over there at mold central?


Anyway, I prefer no band at all. A well made naked cigar needs no silly design. We aren't trying to impress each other..........................................................are we? :whistling:

Agreed. The Parti Deluxe has one of my favorite bands. The black background really gives it an antique appearance. Another band with a similar look is the RyJ Churchill. When properly centered, these are really cool looking. My favorite band might be the Rafael Gonzalez. There are quite a few marcas that share the same color band, but the shape and design of the RG's really please me aesthetically.
 
For a "classy" band, I like......what else? The Padilla Miami band.

I like both the red and brown Tatuaje bands for their simplicity.

And for simplicity at its finest, the Camacho "Diploma" band.....if you can even call it that.
 
Actually, I prefer These Guys, Though they're a Pipe Band, not a Cigar Band.

Heh. I like the FobiddenX Bands. The Opus Bands are nice too. I really like the ESG bands, but I don't have one for my collection yet.

I agree on the Anos band, also the Punch Gran Puro with the little jesters sitting on the chair smokin' away
 
definatly the opus takes the cake for me. im also fond of the montecristo white and davidoff. just real clean looks.
 
Yeah, Opus has a very nice band...I'm also very fond of the Gurkha bands. I think the new Estate selection has a very nice look.
 
Out of all the cigars I've smoked from all over the world, my favorite hands down is the Opus X and Forbidden X bands. After that I would go with a DCM as a close 3rd. Bands being a marketing tool used to push a product isn't always a good thing but in the case of the Opus X, I feel it warrants such a fine ass looking band as that. :thumbs:
 
I like the LGC and the Forbidden X (Black) myself. Although the FX (Black) is the one cigar that is eluding me....the bastag!

Bah...$150 to Holts and you can have 4 Forbidden X bands or have a generous BOTL in Vegas pick you up one with your money of course. :laugh:
 
Davidoff. Nice clean and simple yet screams high class!~

Someone told me bands were first introduced because royalty who smoked them didn't want their white gloves stained while holding cigar back in the day in europe. I don't know if this is BS or true.. Can anyone verify this.

They were selling them here also. Wife would kill me if I dropped that cash for 4 smokes! I was barely able to get her to let me get a 30 year old scotch for that much! :laugh:
