My cigars have seemed a bit dry as of late even though I use the 65 beads and my newly calibrated hygro reads about 65, they have been a bit dry. So last night I put a small fan in there to circulate and forgot to take it out. A day later, the wrappers look to have shrunk shorter than the binders. Have I damaged my goods?
 
No, not right now, I wouldn't be able to post them until tomorrow but I can tell you that it appears as if 1/16" to 1/8" of the wrapper has receded from the foot, exposing that much of the binder/filler.
 
No offense, but I think you're a little paranoid. I really, really doubt that your cigar wrapper would experience any change over night in your humidor unless the little fan you put in there is a space heater.
 
My Avallo controlled humidification unit has been struggling to keep the cigars at 68%. Its been keeping the humidity at a solid 59% to 64% so I gave a call to them and see whats up. He asked if the seal on the cabinet was good and I said yes. This just started in December and he said its probably the filters gone bad and also the fact that the dry heat is causing it to keep a low humidity. he highly recommended me getting some new ones to replace the old ones as I've had them for 6 months now which I figured they needed to be replaced. He assured me this is normal for their system in the Winter months. I have some replacement filters for the lack of a better word that goes in the containers. So far..even after a 1 1/2 months of this before I called, the cigars never seemed dry to me. In fact they have smoked way better than when it was at 68% to 70%. But I would feel better if they was at 65%. Hopefully the filter things will be here tomorrow.

I'm a little curious at some pictures as well.
 
This sounds odd. I have never heard of this happening, Pics would be nice :)
 
A fan to circulate the air can't, IMHO, damage sticks over night. ???

Ok, so it's been a couple of days since I've been working crazy hours and I snapped a pic but since they've sat for a couple, the issue has diminished considerably...it seems that the cigars without cello were affected most of all. The top layer of my 65 beads were totally dry right after the fan was taken out so I'm thinking the outer wrapper was shocked with a good deal of humidity and since have relaxed almost back to normal. Here is a pic of a few-they were almost twice as bad 2 days ago. I believe this is a non-issue now. Sorry for wasting your time.

I think they'll be fine. I would be concerned too, some smokes are quite an investment...
