Where do you buy your cigars

I am a big believer of supporting local business, especially those directly in my neighborhood. But my guy does not carry all of the sticks that I like.

That being said, where do you buy the majority of your cigars - online or at your local cigar shop?

I couldn't even begin to afford all of the cigars I like at my B & M. I understand why he charges what he does but I can't afford to spend $5000 a year for my little hobby. I do support him as much as I can. I would say that 95% of my purchases come from sales on this and various othe BB's as well as online retailers.

Online. I do happen to spend a lot of money at my locals', however if I ever want to get a box or maybe stuff that I can't get locally, I would go online.

All three of my local B & Ms are really just head shops with humidors in the back.
They have nice sticks there but they really support the pot heads in my area more.

They are 50 percent higher than online.
I do go in to these places to buy a stick or two but most of my purchases are online.

My local B&M has less in their humidor than I do in mine......seriously, so that's hardly an option.

I do all my shopping online or here on the site.

I have about 30 bookmarked cigar stores that I visit in order to find the best deal on what I'm looking for.

Every so often Al gets bored.....

My local gets in some great rare sticks, and right now, he sells them all to me. I try to get in once a week or so, and buy a stick or two to maintain that relationship. The taxes, daily selection and markup on them is too high for for this to be my one stop shop though.

There's a B&M locally I like to support when I can. I do buy a ton of stuff online, mostly because it's stuff I can't get anywhere else.

This post makes me realize I should support my B&M more. I used to be there every day, I ran a golf outing for him,.......we were buds. But I haven't bought much from him in years,......I think I'll stop by and let him recommend something!

Thanks for the reminder!

That's most of the brothers online situation, inho, but i just found a new place within 10 miles of my house that is just about the best stocked, in my experience. Woohoo! :)

My B&M has a great selection, and sells most (probably all, but I can't be sure of this) of its sticks below MSRP. I do some buying online, but only of things I can't get at the B&M. As an example, I am planning to buy a box or more of Padron 2000s (among other things ;) ) this summer after I move and have room for a coolerdor. CI sells them for $93.95 per box of 30, plus shipping, while my B&M sells them for $2.99 per stick! And although they're gone now, I did manage to snag a few Opus robustos a few weeks ago for $9.99 per stick (MSRP $11.00 according to the sticky). So why on earth would I ever buy anything online unless it was something the B&M can't get for me?

We have some nice B&Ms in MN. They have a lot of variety, character and history. But the taxes. I'll say it again, 80% wholesale. AND NOW...after talking with Joe (siriusstoogie) last night, it seems that our state government is tracking our online cigar purchases and sending letters to folks telling them that they owe taxes on these purchases.

Where I buy cigars today and where I'm going to buy them in a year may be two completely different stories. Seems like we're being pushed further and further into the underground. Before you know it, I'll be smoking in the back room of a brothel. It will be us and the whores.

Which is fine by me. :D

99.9% online for me. I just can't bring myself to pay ridiculous prices at my local B&M, although I would if I had a nice lounge somewhere near my house.

My "local" B&M is a gas station. Fortunately, because of school and trying to find a job, I find myself in KC once a month or so and make a point to hang out with these criminals. I've never bought a box but I have a great selection of singles thanks to this place. As far as online goes, the occasional c-bid is enough for me.
