Where do you buy your cigars

I am blessed with having and excellent B$M. The prices are as good as anywhere. So, I look there first. My buisness is appreciated, and I get all the Opus and Anjeos I want.

Singles local, boxes and five'rs online. CigarBid has recieved a good bit of my mad money the last couple of months.

I like to pick-up the occasional single at the local... There are a couple of decent ones with good relationships w/ Pete J and Tatuaje... But the taxes and other mark-up in California is rough.

Probably 85% of my $$$ spent on smokes is on-line.

All of my boxes on the internet and All of my singles at the B&M, im lucky to have 3 stores pretty close to me and they have decent prices. PLUS one of them has a pretty nice lounge.

Agreed. It's tough here in Los Angeles. Between the high tax and the high cost of leasing a building, cigar shops are unable to offer any sort of deal, or even reasonable pricing.

I buy 99% of my cigars online. Only time I buy in the store is when I'm looking for a single, or I'm forced to buy a cigar from the shop in order to smoke there.

"I buy 99% of my cigars online. Only time I buy in the store is when I'm looking for a single, or I'm forced to buy a cigar from the shop in order to smoke there." - x2, my sentiments exactly. I use to buy all my cigars at my local B&M (wasted a lot of money) , until I discovered online shops. Now I go to there and purchase one stick to sit and shoot the breeze with other BTOLs.

We have some nice B&Ms in MN. They have a lot of variety, character and history. But the taxes. I'll say it again, 80% wholesale.
Bingo. Which is why I buy almost exclusivly online. What's the deal with the state sending letters for online purchases though? How could they even know?

I believe they were getting the shipping records form UPS and FedEx. In Louisiana they would send you a letter guestimating how many cigars you purchased online. These guesses were always way high. In order to prove you did not purchase that much you had to show what you actually did purchase. Then they made you pay taxes on that. The online cigar stores that shipped USPS did not have this problem.

I got this guy, whois got a brother in cuba, and his brother has a friend who works in one of the factorys. I get mad discounts.

75% local and 25% online or on travel. I'd rather my money stay in my community plus the owner is a good guy. His prices are good and I would rather the money go to him than someone I don't know at all and could be a complete ass. The only thing I buy online is stuff he doesn't have, he just recently started selling Gurkha's. Also when I go on travel I liek to check out the local shops there. The next big shop to me is an hour away and about twice the selection but I guess I have loyalty issues. I wnt once to check it out and would only go back for something my local doesn't have.

I buy online for quantity, but I also stop once a week at my favorite B&M, because it is a "Tower" of customer appreciation, run by a knowledgeable and gracious staff, and for California, really decent prices. My week would be incomplete were I to not drop in.

I find online to be best with prices and typically has more selection. However, I do go to the B&M for some of the tougher to find smokes, like Anejo, Opus X which seem to get snapped up quickly online.

60% Boxes on line, there is a shop with some good stuff and decent prices locally and more if you include Oxxxxx as a B&M even though some may be received through the mail

100% singles B&M
