What goes well with clams?

A clam bake/fry has always been a beer event for me. Never really thought about matching cigars, I just smoked what I brought.

I'm with AVB on this one, you can't go wrong with your favorite beer and a good cigar, don't think I'd be focused on 'marrying flavors' in a clam-fry / camping environment.
'Course, I'm a cretin.

That sounds interesting, I don't believe I've ever had fried clams before. As for the beverage, that might call for some Coronas or Modellos, on ice of course! As for the cigar, I wouldn't be concerned at all about trying to match it with anything but your beverage.

It seems that there is a recent movement to match cigars with food lately - Wilkey, you know anythng about this?

Have a good time today; sounds like it ought to be fun. :)

Oooooh, fried clams. I love 'em. Especially the whole belly style.

I'd imagine that with an oily, breaded food like that, you'd get a better match with a lighter, crisper beer like Corona, or even one of the citrus tinged summer brews. As for cigars, I'd follow on the same theme, something with a lighter, brighter flavor (Ashton Heritage Puro Sol, CAO Criollo,El Rey del Mundo, etc.) Of course, a nice full-bodied smoke might work to and would at least be worth a try.

Oooooohhhh a clam fry........just thinking about it brings a good time to the brain!

A hoppy beer like Hoppus Maximus or Great Lakes Burning River and like others have said......a lighter side cigar to avoid sensory overload!

Oh man I nearly walked outta here with no hot suace.

Thanks for the reminder!

My wife is giving me some grief for packing my mini-humi along. She will get over it sooner or later.
