So, a co-woker (Chief Counsel) jsut came into my office with an interesting cigar. It has been in a humidor for over 20 years. It has VERY yellow cello. And a pig-tail. A cohiba band...obviously looks quite different from what I am used to, round dots, spacing is odd...but I don't have any COhibas this old, so I don't know. I jsut took some crappy cell-phone pictures of it and as soon as I can figure out how to load them, I will.
So, it's maybe 7.5 inches by 40ish RG.

Thoughts? Need pics?

Uh, yeah...well, not quite, a Motorola Q. So, I just e-mailed these pics to myslef. Don't I remember hearing that I can host them on CP now?

Sounds like a crusty lancero...........I heard they were horrible, I'll take it off his hands :whistling:

LOL, no, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Oh, wait, no I didn't. I figured that plus the 8.5 X 11 paper would give a nice sense of scale.

I think it is a tad thick to be a lancero, but I could be wrong. Let me go back into his office and check it out.

OK, I created a gallery:

This is it. By the way, I am not being given the cigar.
Fer chrissakes man. Focus on the cigar and not your fancy schmancy law books! :sign:

It's fake and they draw worse than a French stump. Send 'em my way.

Wilkey

PS. And it's thicker than usual because they have swollen with age...an effect that is so rare that not even MRNOPQR knows about it.

So, out of curiousity, were Lanceros EVER sold in cello? Did the band ever look anything like that?
This is the oldest fake I've ever seen. I would send it to you if it was mine to send.
Chief Counsel was given the cigar by a young employee who (the story goes) was given it by her father who received it as a gift from a business partner over 20 years ago. He held it in his "box" since then, but has quit smoking, and gave it to her to give to him (he smokes a bit) instead of throwing it away!

Couldn't tell you for sure about the cello, butI believe all Cohibas were originally in cello. Here's a pic of an 80s band:

Thanks. The band doesn't look far off.

Confirmation on the Cello question? I've never had an 80's lancero.

Oh,

French stump is a compressed, rolled up stick of newsprint used by artists to smudge out charcoal, conte crayon, or even pastels.

Ah. Suddenly, the statement makes more sense (it already made sense even without understanding the reference), and comes with a visual.
Many thanks.

Ahhh...thanks for that...I thought you were back to talking about the midget porn you and Moki produced.

Excuse me. I was the producer. Moki was the fluffer. And since midgets are, you know, short, he spent a lot of time in kneepads. :sign:
