Well, one of my co-workers just got back from Columbia. I had asked him to look around for some decent cigars and send them to me via courier service. Instead, he brought me one tubo of a popular brand that he tremendously overpaid for. He ended up paying about $40 dollars for the stick. So I'm already a little down about that, but you can't not give him the cash for a favor he thought he was doing, so I've put that behind me.

I open the tubo only to find the band has been removed from the cigar and it loose in the tube. He explains to me that he carried the cigar with some columbian smokes called La Cava Del Puro and the empty tubo was in his wife's luggage. He of course did this on accident. :whistling:

So now I have a $40 cigar with the band removed from the smoke. I've examined the band and it is not a replica. My friend witnessed the tubo opened and the band removed. The band has a small piece of left-over wrapper stuck to it and the smoke has the same piece missing, so I'm pretty sure its a genuine article.

My buddy wouldn't screw me, but just didn't know what to spend. I guess its more my fault, because he had asked me what I wanted and I gave him a list in top down order. He got the one at the top of my list, so that's nice to know.

so what do I use to put the band back on with?

and ps, i did search. I know there has been a plethora of newbies not searching first. I did, and couldn't find anything.

ack, really? The cyanoacrilates won't hurt the cigar? I know that there are fumes with super glues.

Just smoke it and you won't have to worry about putting the band back on. :D

Take a standard sticky note and cut it long ways. Write whatever cigar it is on the sticky note. Take a piece of tape, wrap the sticky note around the cigar and tape the ends together.

Why bother trying to put the band back on if you're going to smoke it?

That sounds like the right answer to me...

Pectin is the 'glue' used for caps and wrapper-patches if you've really gotta re-attach.

Thanks for the tips on using Pectin.. I'll pick some up at the store.. I was planning on giving it a year before I smoked it, especially at what it cost me. But then, on the same note, I'm curious.
