I just bought a 2000 sq/ft house. I followed the Lennox directions perfectly but its been a week now and the humidity is at 68% but the temp is 91 F. How can i bring the temp down? Or is the Thermostat off. The directions said the thermostat was preset and not to mess with it. By the way its a Digital.

It's fuggin' hot.

Put ice in all the rooms...that will help bring the temp down.

Make sure the thermostat is set to "cool" or "auto" and not just "fan" or, God forbid, "heat." And I suppose make sure your thermostat is set to whatever temperature you want the house to be at, and not 91 degrees. Make sure your breakers aren't tripped. If it's one of those thermostats that is programmable so you can vary the temperature throughout the day automatically (I've never had one, so I'm just winging this), I would try turning off that function and just setting it to a steady 70* to see if the A/C kicks on.

If none of these work, call your local Lennox guys, tell them your A/C won't run, and brace yourself in case it's something stupid that neither of us can think of!

Edit: Upon re-reading your post, I guess you don't actually say the A/C won't run, so maybe it is running and just not cooling. If that's the case, check to see if the system is full of ice. Mine sometimes freezes up when it's really hot and humid out and the unit is not getting enough airflow. Often a filter change and hosing off the outside unit will fix the problem. Also, you might need to have the refrigerant recharged. If your system is old and/or leaking, it may be low on refrigerant and unable to cool the air enough.

I'll handle this one.

Dammit!

Haha, nevermind then. Apparently my sense of humor requires more than 3 hours sleep to function properly.

I guess my attempt at humor was lost :sign:

Was trying to be like this guy: Temp off in humidor

Don't quit your day job.

Don't make me submit your ass w/ a whimpy assed arm bar.......beeyotch.

What is a whimpy assed arm bar? The person applying it is a whimp? Or the move itself is somehow whimpy?

I can tell that you are trying to talk some trash, I just think you might need to get a little better at it first.

Toodles. I'm just a little irritated becasue I thought I was doing well reversing an arm-bar last night, and wound up JUST getting out, and then being submitted by a triangle. I still can't talk right, feels like I gargled with broken glass.
Next match I got my face smacked into a seam on the mat and cut my nose. Won the fight, though.
Let's turn this into a MMA thread-jack, beeeeeetches.

No, the first one SEEMS to be someone who stacked up a triangle and is about to attempt to hurt the person applying said triangle by slamming them to the mat. If the person is able to not break the triangle when she lands, it will actually make the choke considerably stronger. Not to mention the dude in jeams is going to F up his neck if the choke doesn't break.

And the red-X doesn't make any sense in that second situation, a well rounded BJJ fighter can reverse the red-X easily.

Dude in jeans, I'm betting, knocked both of them out when they hit the mat.

LOL.

We gave the house we moved into a year, to see how it was. It has no air conditioning in it, but it is sitting in a grove of trees on a hill. A month and a half ago or so, I decided we should get AC installed.

This is no easy task for this house, because all of the heating is radiant heating... silicone tubes run underneath all of the hardwood floors, so there is no blown air anywhere. It's really nice when your feet land on a warm floor in the morning, and it holds a very stable heat, but this system won't work for cooling the house. Thankfully, they did leave much of the old ductwork intact (much, but not all).

We couldn't go the route of just an in-window air conditioner either, due to the type of windows we have in the house. And it got uncomfortable enough on enough days that we decided to go for it.

Yes, Virginia, it does get hot in Upstate NY.

We went with a central air conditioning system, splitting the house into 3 zones. In the 90+ degree heat we're experiencing currently, I'm damn glad we had it put in. Adds to the value of the house, too.

Good luck with your AC, bfreebern. If I had to guess, either the system isn't set to Cool, or it's busted.
