A week or so ago, our own Loren AKA Mr Peat, posted this thread about the bad news diagnosis he got on his back.
Lorens Thread. As I read thru this one, I couldn't help but feel really bad for loren. The back pain he must already be dealing with coupled with the new Diagnosis must have been very difficult for him. We all came together as the close community we are and offered well wishes, prayers, and comments to help him get thru this rough time. I know from experience that when you are down, knowing people care and are thinking about you can be a huge morale booster. So with that, I have an idea....
I've come to think of Mr Peat as "Mr Opus". He has put out some great reviews and great threads on some Opus X Cigars that many of us are happy just to read about! a good example of that would be this thread. Clicky clicky I've enjoyed reading that one very much!
To give something back to ole' Loren and to help keep his spirits up, I would like to suggest a new approach at a HERF. Without a doubt, many of us would love to be able to go and share a smoke with Loren, but since we are scattered all across the country, I suggest this.
On Saturday August 25th, and 8pm Eastern time we all light one up in honor of our good friend mr peat. I have a couple small guidelines as well. (these are suggested, but not required).
Loren, I hope that you are feeling better! We all know that what you're going thru is difficult, and I hope that maybe this will help take the edge off a bit.

- If possible, the cigar you choose to smoke should be an Opus X
- If possible, it should be an opus x that either holds special value, or is one of the limited release varietals-been waiting for a good reason to smoke it, here it is
- you must be able to take a quick snap shot of yourself smoking the cigar you have chosen, while giving mr peat the big thumbs up!
- you must post that picture in this thread
- When posting your picture, you must give a brief summary of the cigar you have chosen and a short review of your experience
- last but not least, take a moment to give a toast or thought to our bro loren!!
Loren, I hope that you are feeling better! We all know that what you're going thru is difficult, and I hope that maybe this will help take the edge off a bit.
