Okay, seems like Padrons are damn good cigars judging by all the talk on this board. I've never had one at all. I'm planning on trying one in the very near future to see what all the talk is about. What should I start out with? What should I expect to pay per stick?

Some will tell you one of the regular releases such as the 2000 Maduro or Natural.

Not me. I say start at the top. 1926 #1 (maduros are my favorite) or maybe a 1964 Principe, both the natural and maduro are great, so take a pick. As far as price... well, they aren't cheap.

I started off towards the top. My first Padron was a Maduro 1926 40th Anniversary. Since then I have had many different cigars from the line and have loved them all. Whether you start with a 2000 or a 1926 you can't go wrong. As far as pricing, you can pick up a regular line thousand series for a couple bucks each or you could easily spend $25-$30 for an 1926 40th Anniversary.

Start with the Padron Anniversario Exclusivo Maduro. If that stick doesn't do it for you, there's no need to carry on or step up to the Serie 1926. Neither will you care to experience a similar profile in the 1000's series.

If you like it, then try some more of the Annis (perhaps the Monarca) and then definitely the 2000 maduro.

Once you have attuned yourself to the profile and determined that it is something you enjoy, then try the Serie 1926.

The price depends on the taxes in your state but could be in the low to mid teens for PAMs, $3-6 for the 1000's and mid to upper teens for the Serie 1926.

Awwww fugg it. Just PM me your addy and I'll send you a pile of Padrons from my stock. If you don't like these, you won't like Padrons, period.

I too would start at the top with a 1926. Don't waste money on the 40th Anniversary because it's the same exact blend as a regular 1926.

1926s are sort of hard to find but I've noticed that this year, they seem to be easier to get a hold of and can be found for LESS than MSRP. ;)

That is why this is the best cigar site out there....brothers like that...

BTW...i went into a new B&M today and a fellow BOTL and I got to talkin about what i liked in cigars....When i told him i liked the RP Vintage 90 he said 'Here you go' and gave me a very good selection of RPs top sticks....he told me he loved them and he wanted to share...That goes to show you how amazing the people that smoke are...

thanks for being the awesome people that you are....

I have tried the Padron 3000, 2000, 4000, and the 1964 anniversary series and I enjoyed them all, and they are out of order becuase that is the order I smoked them in. I really enjoy the Padron line so my opinion is obviously biased, but you would have to decide for yourself. It is amazing how the guys on this forum are so generous, since it appears you will be trying some of the Padron Line for a great price of nothing. Seeing that stuff makes me enjoy this forum all the more.

any padron maddie will do, I'm not really a fan of the regulars, but then again I haven't smoked a natural padron in years, the maduro's are that good.

spend as much as you like, they're great.

I really stumbled over one hell of a group of guys when I found this place. Hopefully I can return the same favors that you guys are doing for me. Thanks fellas and thanks Ginseng.

Got your PM glacies. I'll have a pack out to you tomorrow morning.

Let us know what you think of Padron after you've smoked a few.

nice play wilkey...glacies, you are in for a treat with these smokes. some of the very best IMHO.

Nicely done, Wilkey! I also think your suggestions were spot on. Love those damn Exclusivos...hell, I love them all - but I smoke the maduros 99% of the time!

I love Padrons for sure. To me they have all of the taste and flavor/aroma that I love in a cigar and they have impeccable construction and perfect/ near perfect draw. Also, nice job Wilkey!

Ginseng...you are truelly a brother-from-another-mother! So damn generous and kind... Will you be my Santa?

I don't know. I usually reserve lap-sitting for thong wearing hotties but I'll think about it. ;)
