Broken hand

Broke my hand over the weekend fellas so I'm going to refrain from posting for a bit - takes a while to type with just one hand. I'll be lurking though, so no one's really safe.

canoeing accident trying to save my dog. Made it out fine, he doesn't have a scratch, I'm all busted up though

Broke the center metacarpal of my left hand a few years ago trying to break my fall on a concrete staircase at a water park in Orlando (first day of vacation too).
A titanium plate with 6 screws now holds it together and OT got it working again.

DAMN! You must have shattered it. I broke the same one in a fight and all I got was a cast and now a lump.

Thanks again for the good wishes fellas. Have identified the problem as the joint and the 1st metacarpal. Swelling went down and typing is easier, especially after all the officework I'm dragging myself through today. For some reason my "AWESOME" insurance isn't taken by a single orthapaedist in my area so I'm holding out until I can meet up with some of my doctor friends this week. Point being, it's not really *that* painful and I'm not cashing the 1k worth of accidental injury coverage on my insurance if they tell me to keep it wrapped and don't use it, nor am I driving an hour for them to tell me that this week. Along with my hand, I really busted my legs, shoulder and back up too so I don't want to move or really do anything, and according to my girl, I'm mildly cranky. I told her because I needed special healing from her. She didn't buy it. Oh well.
