I doubt it, flying is crappy job for a women or men in the military. A gunners job is serious business, especially since we've been involved in Enduring/Iraqi Freedom. I'm sure Loopaka and Tremayne can attest to this. Not many enlisted women stay flying after their initial enlistment. I don't know what the actual statistics are but they can't be good.
all i think about is some crazy gunner yelling. "GIT SOME"
Alas, my dad's best buddy was a crew chief and gunner during Vietnam. I'm not sure I would have wanted to have that job. His UH-1 was shot down 3 times, the third time making him a POW with a broken back. That's pretty crappy odds if you ask me. I fly remote control helicopters and can fully attest to how fragile they are when they hit the ground. People don't realize that the rotating mass of the blades will tear apart a heli far beyond what gravity alone will do.
I like to say that my RC helis are a thousand parts flying in formation. If one part gets outa formation, its toodles for the rest. And my butt isn't on the line inside one.
You can keep the full size helicopters for the crazy folks.
