The LEAF FUND

Can I ask my fellow Leaf Fund partners to please consider if what you are emailing is of concern to the group when replying back to everyone on the mailing list. I really don't need a dozen emails flooding my mailbox for trivial "you're doing a good job keep it up". A post here works great for that kind of communication.
Thank You!

PS - I'll have yall know that the above statement was rewrote about a dozen times by me in order to say it in the nicest way possible. My original post read:

Will you f'kers stop flooding my email box with your worthless opinions of how busy you've been lately!

ROFLMAO!

Kenny, don't worry I'll send you some spam e-mails your way!

Mike,
told you a while back you have my proxy. Truth is i just dont have any time to research stocks atm you are doing fine.

I totally agree with Kenny and Double D. Proxy signed and your'e doing a great job sorting
through all the research being sent to you.

How much have we gone through in buy & sell fees so far.

My own research tells me that for a VERY SHORT term and VERY HIGH RISK investment
any loose ca$h might well be invested at Belmont Park this Saturday. :whistling:

Hey all!

I guess I shouldn't have been so general in the email and the post. I know more than half of you said you were only going to contribute $$ to the FUND. You also told me that you wouldn't be mad if we went belly up. So I appologise for not excluding you. And there are alot of you who took this route. I guess my problem is that I have been burning rubber. Doing all these transactions for nodda! I want so badly to make some headway. I've picked the ruffest time in the last 5 years to try and make a buck with short term strategy, especially with minimal fundage. Just hang with me guys.

Cody seems to want to take some of the wait of my shoulders! I certainly am glad.

So with that said I bought a stock we both liked. CPSL= China Precision Steel Inc. 100 shares @ 5.42. I probably should have waited on more of a pull back. My target price was $5.00 - 5.15. But with that recent huge earthquake in China, I thought it might show life in front of my DnD. So... here you have the latest addition to the LEAF FUND. That leaves us with 94.03 in cash. Our portfolio is worth $1718.53. We are 22.913733 per share.

Emmo, as for buy and sell fees. We are just absorbing them. I add them to the stock before the sell percentage (15%) is accounted. I have had a couple of losers that have costed us dearly. TRR & NNRI. Both my sole picks. Dammit MAN!

Well guys, let's hope we can get a run on WEL and AOI. SIRI has just been floating in limbo waiting on the merger. GWDC has sprung a leak and because it is such a penny stock, we are forced to float to the bottom with it. Maybe it'll get aquired or bought out. Never the less we are only $53 into it.

I'm going to do some research now.

When we started this I gave Michael my proxy from day 1 because I know nothing at all about the stock market, investing, or trading and jumped in because it looked like a fun thing to be involved in. I've pretty much been AWOL from the board for the last couple of months but it looks like time to become more involved in our Fund so I can learn a little and have some fun with this. I apologize for being just a "watcher" during the course of the Leaf Fund but when you don't know squat about something, sometimes it's just better to let the Pro's do what they're good at.

WOW, I am glad we got into CPSL when we did!! I think we are going up from here, we might get a small pullback but nothing big. Good job partners we are off to a new start!! Did we decide on anything else. I really like FPP, it is an oil play and no oil is not going down. It might go to 120 but not lower. Keep up the good work Michael, if we make over $100 today you better have a drink and smoke a nice cigar!!!

Jonsey, you echo my situation as well....and I repeat...Michael has my proxy as well, I know a little, but not enough to make money at this whole day trading stuff. I just hope my little contribution to the fund will pan some nice smokes for ALL involved.

Look into SPAM. Owned by Hormel. The stuff is flying off the shelves as people look to cut hteir food budgets in the midst of inflation fears.

Just my current thought - I think someone else mentioned this also

I have something to suggest that should satisfy those wanting a greater role in decisions, and those of us whose eyes glaze over at the mention of researching a stock. First, subdivide the total investment into 1) [relative] Long term hold and 2) Short term surf. 3) Set an end date. Nominate - you, Michael, a fast acting committee of you and at least 1 other member, perhaps 2 to act on the short term decisions. Minutes could count, so chose carefully. Put long term holds on a 24 hour vote to all members who chose to vote. At or near the end date, vote the members to either bail, or continue for another term. Should the majority vote another term, we can transact those who want in/out at that point.

I don't see a need for the emails at all if you follow a formula. Guidelines and expectation are key, not necessarily communication. F all this "are you mad at me" chit! We got on board with you because we have confidence in you. This gig might make money, might lose the whole shebang. I've never been on board with an investing club, and I'm enjoying what you/we have done so far. Carry on.

I like your thought Bruce!! Sorry about the CPSl I spoke too damn soon.

Alright Partners, I know we finished green on the CPSL. I might have spoke too soon this morning, I know the market tanked. Which really sucks for me and for us, but poop happens. I am glad we got into CPSL though, I think they will do well! I have been looking at another China play. CRJI.OB they do cement and with the earthquake, I think they will have something to offer. Anyways, I will look at some others tonight.

Nice pick Bruce!!! I hope some of our other picks turn around, the market doesn't know what to do.

I know we made money today*****LVLT**** nice pick!!! It looks like CPSL wants to take off, but the %^%^^$ MM are holding it down. They are getting their shares cheap!!! Anyways, I don't know if we got into LEI or FPP, but with oil up 4 we need to be.... LEI--"Lucas Energy Announces Natural Gas Distribution Agreement With Major Southeast Texas Utility Company! This could be big since gas is going through the roof. I know I made money off of both of these comp. I just hope the Leaf Fund made some.. Michael if you get time tonight will you post are stocks and their gains/losses!!! Cheers to LVLT up .52, I think we will see a gap up in the morning!!!

Well Codester... Bruce is rubbing it in! He knows we sold LVLT awhile back. He gave me the buy signal when we got the new 50 shares. But did I listen... no! I did for my personal portfolio though. Got out @ 3.74 with a nice little profit, but as you can see... a little early. Bruce's vote is going to have to count as 2 from now on! :D

We are going to have to sell something to buy something.

Post away guys!

Oh, alright then. Thanks for posting our openings, I will try to do some homework today! I hope we have a good day!

Here's my opinion.

From my research the last few days. WEL is a hedge bet against oil producers. It is a company used to repair oil rigs. It's main asset is putting out oil well fires. Big investors are useing it to hedge as an geographical oil bet. Claiming that if there is trouble in the Middle East like what happened in Kawait when fire was set to a bunch of the wells and production went down, then WEL would hedge this bet. They say " You always want to lose money on your hedge". When I bought this stock I was going on what the company did, and it's balance sheet. So... with that nutshell D n D.

Maybe we should close it? But since it's under a $200 investment, should we keep her and sell something else? Actually we have nothing at our profit margin of 15% yet, not even WEL. WEL is at a tad bit lower than 9.5%. This doesn't mean we can't though. Who has a hunch, gut feeling.

Selling

WEL +20.01 /freeing up approx. $230 buying cap

AOI +38.01/ " " " $650 " "

CPSL -5.01/ " " " $547 " "

SIRI -82.00/ " " " $2.70 " " ( I think we wait for merger accept or deny )

net after the $19.99 commision fees.

It's just not feasable to sell GWDC.OB to recover $5.50. Let's just forget we own this stock for selling purposes.

From what I gathered in the postings above. We were going to get together on Fridays and vote for the next weeks objectives. Whether that be change or sit put.
