It is not about giving to get. It is about giving to give. There is no required return on fire, I only look forward to you enjoying. :whistling:

I completely understand the philanthropic nature of bombing...I guess I just meant I'd do my best to thank you for your gracious generosity. :whistling:

Paul,

I was not trying to lecture, forgive me if it sounded that way. I only do not want you to feel any pressure to give me anything. I am lucky to be in a spot to let you get hammered with some top gear, and I am so excited to smoke a cigar in a LCDH lounge and smack you at the same time that it makes me giddy right now typing it!

See you soon Canadian Brothers!

I've seen pics of Paul's humidors. We'll see who does what smackage ... :whistling:

You are in for it too Sir. I just got the rest of my bomb materials today to make it perfect.

I mean neither one of you guys has even tried Tat's. Paul saves his Opus for "special" times only...I intend to provide more special times. And, I for sure intend to provide non-get-able cigars for my Northern BOTL.

I will probably call you both tomorrow just to confirm times.

Let it be said, after a long day of travel, The Hilton is the first place I get to go get a drink and a smoke, and it is going to feeel damn good.

p.s. I am officially on vacation as of this minute.

Tonights cigar, LFD limitado III
Drink: San Romain 2000

You're really making this wait difficult Matt...LOL

All these hints about the contents of your "mystery bomb" are making me salivate like a starving dog! January 4th, 2009 is shaping up to be a truly memorable day! Good people, good cigars and good drinks... what else could we ask for?

Give me a call at home or on my cell anytime,

Hope you're enjoying your vacation!

Paul

Hope you guys have a great HERF!

First herf is done! Last night, Anthem and I smoked many cigars, bombed each other silly, and (at least on my part) drank a bit too much - the bartender was pouring loosely, and I'm, ah, feeling it now. Later Mrs. Anthem and her friend joined us, and we went to a pub to grab a bite.

We had a round of "guess the cigar" - I brought a couple sticks unbanded, and he brought a couple unbanded - Anthem only took two guesses to get his right (Montecristo) - while I flailed all over the place until I landed on 601 (although in my defense, I did get that it was a DPG stick fairly early on).

Thanks Anthem for the awesome bomb!

Paul: I sent along something fun for the three of you to share :whistling: . Hope you enjoy - I know you'll have a great time!

I'm glad you guys had such a great time! Now that know how much fun you guys had I really wish I could've been there. I wish I could have done ANYTHING on New Year's Day...I guess I drank a little too much on New Year's Eve and was pretty much bed-ridden all day...even missed my annual family dinner! I'll never learn...LOL

Can't wait to see what this "something fun" is that you sent along for us!?! I'm sure we'll have a great time with Matt. It's too bad you can't make it...maybe next time!

Happy New Year to you and your family!!

Paul

Well I am back on the plane tomorrow.

After a weeks’ vacation up here in this wonderful part of the world I must go back to the grind.

Craig, I thank you very deeply for the hospitality and for the pleasure of your company. I got to smoke some stuff from you that I had only dreamed of and I am deeply grateful for it. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the selection I had gotten you and I hope you find some firsts of your own as exciting as I found yours. I am also so glad you decided to come out with us for late diner. You listened to my wife and her girlfriend talk about high school like a pro. I was getting more tired there then you were

And, the Partagas Culebras, was of course forgotten  back in Ottawa. So I bought another one at LCDH and we shared that! Thanks from all of us, as we (Paul, Mark and I) all enjoyed that first thing sitting down with our drinks.

Once again, you were a great gentlemen and I am glad to call you friend.

Paul and his dear friend and brother-in-law Mark, met me at La Casa De Habanos at about 1 on Sunday afternoon.

Pictures here: http://www.cigarpass.com/forums/index.php?...amp;hl=montreal

(I am the one in the suit, Paul is with the full beard, and Mark is clean shaven).

These two guys were another great set of good BOTL. I tried to bomb them both silly and I think I got them pretty good. I only wish I had the foresight to take doubles of everything for them to share instead of box over the singles they each wanted :whistling:

But... these guys handed it right back to me with some very special stuff which, again I had never actually seen and only heard of.

Paul and Mark I am so glad to have had the opportunity to make new friends with you and to have enjoyed my afternoon with you both. Your company was great. The restaurant that night was also great and everyone was very glad you came with us. Though next time I must go get better smoked meat then I had before meeting you.

Well played by all and thank you all so much for helping to make my vacation a better one. I can only say my door is open to any of you at any time, and hope you feel free to come right on through it.

I also want to thank the rest of the family who helped out. Marco, that restaurant was great. Bison tartar with Foie Gras was amazing and well worth the long wait for reservations.

Doc, I only hope we can have you as a guest next time, and I hope your trip out East was a very relaxing one.

So, my Northern bretheren, stay warm and smoke often. I willl see you all next time out.

So very much care,

Matthew

Likewise! I'm sure that I'll see you back this way every once in a while :whistling:

As for the late dinner, well, it didn't seem that long ago to me that women half my age were jail-bait. Now they're graduate students. Please excuse the mid-life crisis :sign:.

And I'm glad you-all enjoyed the cigar (and/or reasonable facsimile thereof  ) I wish I could have been there. Next time!

These two guys were another great set of good BOTL.

I can only say the same for you my Michigan friend! Marc and I had a great time and were absolutely blown away by your bomb (not too many bruises after splitting it up with Marc :sign: ). Since it's so damn cold I haven't had a chance to light any of them up, but I am planning a trip to North Carolina in March, so maybe it'll be a little warmer there and then.

Thanks for a great day of smoking, great food and great company! If ever you are in the neighborhood, don't be shy to call... we'd love to do it all over again. And if I am ever in your area (maybe this summer... :whistling: ), I'll drop you a line and see what you're up to.

Take care and stay in touch!

PS Craig, thanks for the awesome surprise! I know the Culebras wasn't the exact one you gave to Matt, but we pretended that it was. Having never smoked one (too chicken to smoke the one in my humi LOL), it was a fun little smoke. The curve in the cigar actually fit great in my hand... very ergonomic! Thanks again and maybe I'll get to meet you at your next herf!

To hell with all this. What about the women? I want to hear about them. Ain't them French Canadian women lovely? I'll bet you didn't see one poorly dressed lady on the street. There was a time when you'd never see a one in jeans, although that's changed over the years.

Doc.

I guess familiarity breeds contempt, but, um, it is winter. All you'll see on the street are parka's.

Also, thanks to a proliferation of 'model' portfolios and forums on the Internet, the number of, ah, 'well-dressed' women on the street has gone down quite a bit :sign:

How foolish of me. I'm used to being in the company of sailors and Marines. A more single minded and resourceful group. Improvise, adapt, overcome, if you know what I mean. :sign:

Doc.

I don't think I saw anyone under 35 who was not at least fairly looking.

Many women were obviously stylish, I was certainly suprised when I saw women still in skits despite the weather. That said, those were few in between. Mostly just long caots and pretty faces. On the up side, my imagination is very very good. :whistling:
