Well guys I haven't smoked a whole lot of cigars, but in my most recent trip to my local B&M (I still don't know what this stands for lol)
I saw those little guys and the owner explained to me the concept behind it intrigue I picked a couple of these up (Bought the darkest wrapper in the hope that it would be the strongest in taste, they did not have any Nub Maduro)
Its kinda of a large ring size IMO (my crappy cutter wound't handle it... had to do with the mean on board to cut that one)
Construction was solid, appealing to the eye, nice and smooth wrapper, I have initially smelled the cigar before putting it in my mouth... First problem it had that distinct earth, dirt smell, didn't really like it, but hey it might smoke better!
Upon cutting it had a nice and easy draw (ring 66) and a but of a peppery/spicy taste to it.
Decide to light this little guy up overall the burn was pretty good the ash was dense and very compact (see pic). No touch up it burned well and evenly all the way. However the smoke it self was only blah... average, nothing standing out, no complex bouquet, It was smooth but I couldn't pick up much of any outstanding taste, only a small hint of pepper/salty mix with a taste of earth/dirt topped by a splash of coffee, very light coffee. The only thing that I liked about it was the burn, and that trough out the smoke the flavor was intensified but none the less uniform no bitterness even toward the end. Smoking time: 50 min
It definitely need improving in its complexity not a bad smoke but nothing that would make me get another one (appears to be a "young cigar", if that makes sense).
A great concept but need some polishing, a "short" and complex smoke would be my ideal!
After reading some on the Nub Maduro I might give that a shot.

I've found that the NUB's are hit or miss for me. Sometimes I like 'em, sometimes I feel they are lacking. I agree, they can be very, very simple in terms of taste. I haven't tried the maduro yet, though the B&M I have made my second home carries them. Perhaps I will try one tomorrow.

B&M stands for Brick and Mortar, in other words a building. :)

To me the concept of the Nub is better than the actual smoke. Having a cigar that is that "sweet spot" all the way through is nice, but makes for a one dimensional smoke. I like when there is some evolution, so I tend to lean away from these. The few I've had were decent but nothing I'll go out of my way to get.

Thanks for the review.

Totally agree! I am not running to get some more, but here is the thing, I have been smoking some Casa Magna Robusto lately really liking it, and I was in a closing out B&M and scored a case for cheap the only thing is that they only had some Toritos (short and fat 4.75 * 60) Kinda like a Nub! except that it had an evolution to the smoke (I don't know if that makes sense) but none the less the "Sweet Spot" was achieved very soon after lighting it up!
I might have found my new "Nub 2.0"
Got a case of 27... probably going to save 20 of them for later... Its so hard to let them sit for 6 month to a year and not wanting to smoke'm... arggg

Yeah, you just have to get boxes and boxes of other stuff to smoke so that you can rotate what you're smoking and they'll all get age... I need to win the lottery! :sign:

B&M stands for Brick and Mortar. Basically purchasing from you local tobacconist rather than from an online source...
