Well guys I haven't smoked a whole lot of cigars, but in my most recent trip to my local B&M (I still don't know what this stands for lol)
I saw those little guys and the owner explained to me the concept behind it intrigue I picked a couple of these up (Bought the darkest wrapper in the hope that it would be the strongest in taste, they did not have any Nub Maduro)
Its kinda of a large ring size IMO (my crappy cutter wound't handle it... had to do with the mean on board to cut that one)
Construction was solid, appealing to the eye, nice and smooth wrapper, I have initially smelled the cigar before putting it in my mouth... First problem it had that distinct earth, dirt smell, didn't really like it, but hey it might smoke better!
Upon cutting it had a nice and easy draw (ring 66) and a but of a peppery/spicy taste to it.
Decide to light this little guy up overall the burn was pretty good the ash was dense and very compact (see pic). No touch up it burned well and evenly all the way. However the smoke it self was only blah... average, nothing standing out, no complex bouquet, It was smooth but I couldn't pick up much of any outstanding taste, only a small hint of pepper/salty mix with a taste of earth/dirt topped by a splash of coffee, very light coffee. The only thing that I liked about it was the burn, and that trough out the smoke the flavor was intensified but none the less uniform no bitterness even toward the end. Smoking time: 50 min
It definitely need improving in its complexity not a bad smoke but nothing that would make me get another one (appears to be a "young cigar", if that makes sense).
A great concept but need some polishing, a "short" and complex smoke would be my ideal!
After reading some on the Nub Maduro I might give that a shot.
