Not a review, but I just finished smoking a Series P corona gorda size; how can the same blend have such a different taste? I'll definitely be sticking with the red labels from now on.

The white labels are a mixed filler instead of long filler. Still great smokes for the price but not quite as good as the red labels, imo.

Never ventured into the P-seres, but the Reds never disappoint.

While I agree the taste of the reds are fantastic I have had horrible construction and draw issues as of late. Have not tried any of the reds since they started coming in cello with the extra decal on the box. I have a full box of Hermosos that will wait until next Spring.

WHAT? CELLO on my Tatuajes? Dammit! I love opening the box and smelling the freshness of the raw leaves! I guess it's better if you're taking them on the go though...

I heard about the cello thing a time or two but never saw it until my last box. Some extra decals on the outside of the box and all the sticks inside with cello on but lying flat on top of each other in rows of six (Hermosos) and not in a wheel held by ribbon.

That makes me sad... ah well that's progress I guess... :(

Word is Tatuaje's are junk since Pete switched tobacco.....

I'm not sure where this info comes from??? We have not changed any tobacco. All the tobacco is coming from either Pepin's farms or from Oliva Tobacco Co. as it has for the last 3 years.

We moved to cellophane on the Red labels out of the request from a large percent of our retailers. Tough for me to do but has been good so far. The extra stickers are going away soon. We used the sticker to designate which boxes had cellophaneduring the transition.

The P Series is scrap tobacco from all the Red Labels, La Riqueza, Cabaiguan and Triunfador, so the blend is much different than the Red.

Hope this answers some questions. Sorry about the short response as I am on my way to Germany to a trade show.

While in Germany, grab us CPers some regional releases :D
Or at least some for the NYC crowd

Pete: I think you need to make a beedog themed cigar.

Is it me or did Pete just spank that ASS? :D

I'm glad Pete stepped in to dispel that rumor, he's worked hard to get it to that level.

I actually like cello on especially if I give them out to help prevent wrapper tears.

As for the P Series, I knew I was buying short filler so I wasn't going to be bothered that they don't taste exactly like the red or brown labels. Hey, they are my high end car washing, house repair kind of smoke.

Just my .02

I have always wondered why the two taste so different. Now we know.

I'm a huge fan of the P-series...especially when they have some time to sleep.

Much appreciated for the info...

Thanks Pete, for the info, good to know these things!

Yikes, didn't realize the reds were getting cello'd. But I can see why, I see tats get man-handled in the B&M's all the time. Once they get to about 8 or so left you get a lot with frayed leaves and nicks and things.

I love the reds, almost as much as the browns (but not quite as much)

But the whites never really did it for me.

Long live the Browns, no Brandon, not those Browns. I still think those are the best offerings from Tatuaje, the Reds simply have never done it for me the way the Browns have.
