New part II

Hey everyone. "returning" smoker... kinda not returning to the boards but returning to pipesmoking after a 5 or so year break. I have 4 pipes (tried to make a album to show them but could not so pending upload)

I have 2 of my Fathers pipes both Brigham's over 30 years old
as well as 2 of my own pipes about 15 years old both Chacom ( numbers on the back are 292 and 962 if that means anything)

Looking for a good (simple) Meerschaum pipe now and wondering if anyone has suggestions of who to buy from or what to look for in one of those.

I don't have a lot of experience with meerschaum. I know Baki's are highly regarded, but I'm not sure they qualify as "simple" (they're pretty high end).

Garris, if you're looking to try out some different blends, then definitely get a couple of cheep Missouri Meerschaum cobs. That way you don't 'ghost' the flavors into your nicer pipes.

As far as inexpensive meerschaums, I picked up a Turkish block meerschaum on ebay for less than $15. It's pretty nice actually, and I've been very happy with it. Just make sure what you're buying is true block meerschaum. A lot of the the cheeper meers are made of compressed meerschaum, which you don't want.

they seem to ship to Canada but the rate they have for shipping 2 pipes is $33... sheesh

Well I was gonna say have them ship to me, and I'll fwd it on to you ... BUT
I just looked up postage, and Priority mail from me to Ontario is $18.05; sipping from Pipesandcigars.com to me is about $7+, and they have to add the NY tax on tobacco products if they ship to me in NY, SO it will probably be about the same as having them shipped direct to you.
