I was just at my B + M enjoying a smoke. I walked into the humi and the BTL that have been in for a week not a one has been bought. At $16 and some change it is a expensive smoke. If it were not near Christmas I would have bought the box and got a 10% discount.

I'm seeing the same thing at my local B&M. BTL's are just over $17 and only a few have been bought since they hit the shelves over a week ago. They still have a full box UTS and the box of Anejo 46's still has a few sticks left and that's been there for over a week. They also still have a bunch of 55's. I remember thinking last year how slow these were moving compared to the year before and now this year they're moving even slower. In the past these wouldn't have lasted 3 days.... now it's over a week and a half.

I hear that when I use to work at a B + M 7-8 years ago the Fuente holiday stuff flew off the shelf.

I've seen the same thing. One of my B&M's gave me 2 phone calls asking me to get some of their fuente stuff. He said things are just not moving and asked if I would like to pick up some more. I picked up some more singles, but since they are priced a bit high, I really only did it to help him out. Usually by the time I even get the call, it's nearly all picked over.

Last time I was in my B&M, they were giving away Padron 1926's with a box purchase. They also had a box of Opus that sat on the shelf for over a month, normally those never even make it to the shelf and last a week at best.

I offered up an Anejo + BTL sampler for 60$ that no one ever expressed interest. I also have noticed that there is a lot more talk and review for cigars in the 2-3$ range. I think everyone is hurting and looking for some cheap bargain smokes.

The Anjeos lasted less than a day when they came in at my local shop last week.

The Anjeos are moving fairly well but nothing on the BTL.

Just speaking for myself, I can understand how it happens. I know a lot of people really enjoy the BTL, but the cigar has never done much for me. It's certainly a good cigar, but considering what they cost, I don't find them to be worth it. I don't think a lot of people who don't share our "sickness" are going to pony up $16-20 for this cigar. Personally I think Fuente would be better served to stagger their htf releases over the course of the whole year, instead of releasing most of their htf stuff at the same times each year. I know if I walk into my B&M with a fist full of cash, and they have Anejo, Opus, WOAM, and BTLs all arriving at the same time, I have to go with the cigar I prefer the most for my money. It also doesn't help that the December release always falls so close to Christmas.

I thought they did spread things out. I know my B&M gets Opus in every quarter. He does not get the anejos though, so I can't say on that front.

They do spread out the Opus. But the Anjeos and Hemi Maduros all seem to be jammed in at this time.

Walked into my local and found 55's, 49's, 48's 50's and WOAM all full boxes, needless to say I blew my budget out of the water.

Good or bad economy, you gotta be quick to get this stuff at my B&M. Like Sneeds said, all the Anejos were wiped out in less than a day.

If they would sell these at MSRP then I would buy them. Most of the shops I go into charge an arm and a leg to buy them. Why buy just one cigar when for the price I can buy several others that are just as enjoyable.

The anejos sold out pretty quick at my B&M, but they've got some Forbidden X Opus sticks that have been moving pretty slowly.

I understand though... it's hard to justify buying a $30 stick...if they're still around post-Christmas, I'll probably pick one or two up, but right now with buying Christmas gifts, it's just not a good decision.
