My name is Jamie, and I live in Wichita, KS. I'm the quality program coordinator for a warehouse and logistics firm. I've been with my wonderful wife for 20 years, and couldn't ask for a better friend. I have two adult daughters from a previous marriage, and 4 grandchildren.
I started smoking cigars seriously in 2006 and joined the cigar boards shortly after that. I lean towards fuller bodied / full strength cigars (JdN, LFD, Padrons, etc...).
I started experimenting with growing and processing my own tobacco in 2010, and was able to get in a successful harvest from the 12 plants that I set to the field. The entire process of harvesting, curing, fermenting, rolling and/or producing pipe tobacco is very interesting to me and I've enjoyed every minute I've spent doing it, even when I've had to pitch some moldy leaves........lesson learned for next year. I am going to seriously expand my planting for this year....like up to 100 plants, 10 ea of 10 different varieties, some specifically for pipe tobacco (burley / orientals), and others just for cigar tobacco (havana 142 / florida sumatra/ ct broadleaf / pa broadleaf). It should be an interesting ride.
