I do 70 degrees 70%. Sort of standard. Don't let the foot get in the flame while lighting. Moisture on the lips hard to avoid especially when spirits are involved. I think in the more humid environments say summer in MI this usually helps make the cap get moist.

Trimming your cigar is the most important thing in smoking. Not trimming the foot which we burn but the draw end. It makes the cigar draw better and smoother less bitter flavor is accomplished. I trim my cigars at least a half dozen times. Maybe a 32nd to a 16th inch is needed. Scissors a must...

Thanks tone-ny with hilarious and true follow up Doc. I can say with personal experience the Diamond Crown Sanford's 90th I have been smoking all the way along. They now are smoking way better than when I first experienced them. Seems to me that all sticks have to be thought of individually. My...

Thanks for the well wishes from everyone. The many opinions of cigars are just like the many kinds of cigars. Everyone has a style of smoking or a kind of cigar that pleases their palate. Let alone how imbibing in good spirits might augment the pleasure. It's all about a well toasted foot and a...

Okay, guys not trying to ruffle any feathers here. Only feathers I like to ruffle are grouse with my O/U. I'm not some 30 something. Tried doing exactly what I wrote. Smoked a 30 year old Cuban Monte Cristo "A" smoked a "fresh" one and clearly a difference. Smoked many sticks of different ages...

There is some other views on that. Some say 10 years is maximum and no benefits occur after that. Then others and auctions verify via market price they do get better. I think aging is beneficial for premium cigars. I have that as personal experience. Try it on a box. Smoke one right away and...

Tried the google thing and found nothing. That is why I tried the BOTL. Thanks for the help. 16 years later they smoke nicely. Maybe a little to nicely considering they were a cheap cigar at the time. Aging does wonders for a cigar. I have a y2k opus x "A" that i was told to hold at least...

Hi folks. New here. I smoke cigars with the philosophy of 1,000 bad cigars does not make up for a great cigar. So, I smoke sticks that I can only afford once a month. I like milder cigars but the the right full bodied smoke after a heavy meal is a pleasure too. Here is my top smoke on the...
