Hey guys,
I am out of ideas here. I salt tested my new digital hydro (72%), I have a new high quality 75-100 count humi, I have 3 of the regular round humidifiers and I have two conflicting problems.
I cant get the humidy above 62% AND... I am getting mold!!
I did have a leak at one point...
Yes, they all burned uneven and had to be re-lit multiple times.
You guys used the terms fermentation, cured, and aged, leaving me a little confused regarding when in the life of the leaf this happend. I still have one of them... is letting it age a year in my humi worth a try or was the...
I havent quite reached that level of appreciation yet; I think due just to inexperience, but I definitly get it. I am much more versed on single malts and the complexity of multiple falvors is exactly what you come to appreciate after a while. The best prepared dishes are similar; multiple but...
Ahh the joys of serendipity. My 11 year old daughter's homework for the last few nights has been on the skill of inference. ;)
My questions are:
Has this ever happened to anyone?
Does anyone know why this would occur?
Is there anything wrong with the cigar?
Would you kindly share similar...
I bought 5 sample smokes from a local place that actually makes them and they all had an almost unbarably bitter taste to the wrapper. Im talking just putting the cigar in your mouth unlit... not bitter smoking. They smoked great and the smoke was tasty but every time my tongue hit the wrapper...

Hey David
My taste has changed with time also as I have gotten more experienced. I too find myself liking more expensive smokes... particularly aged cigars.
Letting the cigar "rest" between tokes and not flicking the ashes like a cigarett (smoking slower) definitley improves the character of...
Boy... cant help answering that question with a question. What you mean?
The point to my comment was not to steer someone to a particular brand or size but to share what I learned about HOW to pick a good one. You know... give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats...
Awesome thanks!
Thanks I will try that one. The Java actually tasted like it was a decent smoke under all that sugar but I had no lips left after licking them off. :0
I just read an article on picking a good humidor. The basic gist is it has to be thick and double lined (check the top and bottom too) with the inside lining being Spanish cedar. A good digital guage and a tight seal are also critical.
I went to the local shop, had him pull out all the humi's...
Hey guys. I am trying hard not to fall into the "flavored cigars suck" club but Drew Estates is pushing me. I just bought and tossed the Drew Java and ACID collector tin. What is his deal with dipping the cigar tip in sugar?
Anyway, before I run for president of the aforementioned club... can...
