    Pipe gift

Can anyone please recommend a couple of quality pipe brands. My best friend started smoking a pipe a couple months ago and I'd like to get him one for Christmas. I'm looking at under $200, hopefully in the $150 area. Thanks.

hey guys, my best friend's wife called me last night because she wants to buy him a humidor for his birthday. are there any places you might recommend that sell good quality humidors? i've made purchases from cheaphumidors.com myself. he's not a novice smoker so he would want somthing besides...

damn guys i feel guilty for not checking back on my post. but on a flier i went to the tasting room here in houston about an hour after i posted and the manager led me to a couple of tasty selections: selby 2005 chardonnay ($26) and a $29 richard bourgeois 2004 sancerre (sav blanc varietal). i...

    chardonnay and sauvignon blanc

I'm buying my boss both a chardonnay & a sauvignon blanc for a holiday gift, and I would like to keep each bottle within a $20-25 range. Seeing as I really don't drink white wine myself, anyone have any recommendations? thanks!

    question for the group

what is the difference between a "standup" wine and just a regular wine? my local liquor store has a website where you can browse different wine varieties. They have different categories for pinot noir and they have standup pinot noir. They also have similar categories for zin, cabernet...

    turkey time

thanks for the tips and insight all. from my end i've had what i would call some good pinot's in the $20 range myself: au bon climat, saint gregory, bv carneros, and to a lesser extent jibe (which is more of an everyday pinot for me). i've found them to be very good, to my amateur palate that...

    turkey time

my wife an i host turkey day at our house every year. this year i want to have one single wine to offer with dinner. last year (as a wine rookie) i had different bottles on hand for the dinner. my guests prefer red wine, and from what i've heard you probably want to go with something fruitier...

    need a lighter

wow, so many responses. it appears that the colibri's are held in high regard. from what i've been reading i'm leaning towards either a vector or the gemini blazer. the pb-207 doesn't really do it for me asthetically (i know i sound like a prissy boy, but i want my lighter to look nice)...

    Guantanamera

had them about a year ago myself, and i wasn't too impressed with them at all really.

    need a lighter

the colibri's look really nice. i'm guessing the fuel lasts a bit longer than my cheap $10 torch?

    need a lighter

been using a generic three flame torch that i bought from my local liquor store (around $10). problem is the fluid on the torch lastsan extremely short time, i sometimes cannot get one cigar lit before it runs out of fluid. i'm guessing that it might be a faulty lighter. are there any...
