So I'll be in Vegas at the end of August, for VMware Explore. I think I'll have some time to stop at a lounge or two and would like some recommendations. Not sure if I'll have a rental car, as I hate city driving with a passion. The conference is at the Venetian; so the closer the better. Any shops that are a must see; now that Casa Fuente has closed? It would be great to find a place that I could walk to and smoke a cigar or two.

Also, any tips in general for Vegas are welcomed. I have never been there before, so tips for how to dress for the heat would also be welcomed. I sweat.....alot......so I am NOT looking forward to that dang heat. Good restaurants worth checking out? Not looking for anything that's $200 a plate, but like which buffets are worth it or which sit down ones are worth considering?

Anything else?

The heat will be crazy that time of year. Even at night it will be very hot, you can feel the heat intensely radiating out the concrete. If you are into sports and/or sports betting, Circa ( a fairly new property) is the place to be, and it is very cigar friendly. A good friend of mine who is a BOTL has been to Circa several times, and told me how much he loves to smoke there. You can smoke at the Legacy Club (rooftop lounge), on the casino floor and at the lounge by the entrance /next to the casino floor (Vegas Vickies). You can also smoke in areas at their Megasportsbook, although I don't recall much about it. The pool is not cigar friendly unless you have a private cabana, which I am sure is available for one low, low price, or not. Also, seeing a show in The Sphere is supposed to be quite the experience.

I would provide more tips, but sadly it has been over 10 years since I was last there.

It’s been a few years but I think you can still smoke most areas in the casinos. Also one of the few states you can still get smoking rooms in many hotels. Driving in Vegas is a breeze. Just stay off the strip. Park inside as much as possible. Your car will be hotter than a blast furnace if you don’t. If you’re gonna buffet you must hit the Wynn. Spendy but primo chow. If you love pinball the Pinball Hall of Fame is a must as well. Spend at least a few hours on Fremont Street downtown. The Venetian/Palazzo is my favorite property. Jealous. Have a blast!

I’ve mainly stayed on the strip and loved the Mirage, but that no longer exists. Since then I’ve stayed in several other casino resorts, but finally found my new home. The MGM Grand is awesome to me. Whiskey Down Cigar lounge is great. Very laid back, and good drinks. They get live music there in the evenings and pretty quiet in the afternoons. Don’t plan on buying a stick there, you would need to bring your own. It’s nothing fancy or must see, just an easy relaxing area to enjoy drinks, smokes, and good company.

Alright...strap in, here we go.

Cigar Spots On the Strip:
- Davidoff Lounge, Forum Shops across from the Wynn: Davidoff's are insanely expensive, everything else is generally MSRP. So if you like Liga Privada, AVO, Rocky, Fuente/Opus, etc it's not a bad spot to buy a stick. They are BYOC as well with no issues. Great drinks and service. One of my personal choice lounges on the Strip that I frequent the most.
- Montecristo Lounge at Caesars and Paris: Hear the newly renovated Paris Lounge is really nice. I have not been there to confirm. The Caesars Lounge is nice, usually busy with a diverse group of people. Cigar prices are absurd. BYOC shouldn't be an issue, however its been a couple years since I have visited.
- Legacy Club is the real deal. 60th floor of the Hotel. They may require a reservation, also it's a little hard to find once you get into Circa on the main floor. Worth it, especially if you want to put on your fancy clothes and treat yo-self. They have cigars for sale that are not atrocious, but they are above MSRP. BYOC is not an issue. Fantastic cocktails.
- Eight at Resorts World is equally as good, and equally a pain to get into depending on the night. They have the most outrageous cigar prices in town. BYOC also not an issue, great cocktails as well. Stunning lounge to smoke in, live music/DJ come on later in the evening and are usually too loud, unless you're into that.
- Whiskey Down: after Davidoff, is the other Strip spot I usually visit. BYOC without issue, they do have cigars but it's a limited menu. I met @CgarDan there last year and we had a great time. Great recommendation @Smart Ash .

Fremont:
- The Griffin: dark, dingy dive bar vibes with great seating and weird bar tenders. Fremont personified. They used to have a small selection of cigars, they still might. BYOC not an issue. I like this spot when I am down there.
- Lovo Cigars: Container Park, upstairs. No lounge, but they source and roll their own tobacco/cigars. Great prices and good sticks. You can smoke on the roof of the whiskey bar across the way, and they make solid cocktails
- Evel Pie, no cigars, just great pizza and beer! This is one of our Date Night spots.

I can list more to visit, but if you're looking to kick it around where you are staying, Davidoff will be your best bet. Uber and Lyft are plentiful and mostly affordable unless there is an event or game going on. We have got caught during "surge" operations and it's a pain.
En Fuego Sahara, Helios, Cigar Box, SMOK, Triple Crown, Chocolate City, Tap 'n Ash are all great spots off the Strip.

Two spots that are worth checking out off the Strip:
- Las Vegas Cigar Outlet: largest humidor west of the Mississippi, or so Uncle Roger claims. Roger, the owner, is a pain in the ass, but the size of the Humidor is worth it. Crazy selection of cigars. I stop in 2-3 times a year just to walk around. He has old stock AVO which are prime smoking. Don't take em all!
- Vegas Classic Cigar: I am biased, as it's down the street from my house, and I am good friends with the owner. Prices are spendy, but not Strip level. The Lounge and atmosphere are what you're paying for; top notch. Also the best cappuccino in town. If Margarita is working, you will feel like a King. She's incredible.

Places to eat? Boy, pick your poison. Literally too many to count. We don't visit the Strip to eat hardly ever, and it's been a while. I cannot comment on any of the new joints down there, but heard good things.

Everything else the boys said above checks with me. Some things don't change a lot out here, while others things do. Sadly Casa Fuente does not have a re-open date.

Feel free to DM me with any questions! Oh, it will be hot in August :D
