    New Dunhill

A little heat will soften any glue that may be there. Just a bit of lighter heat to the metal and a gentle twist. No, do not pull out the propane torch. :D

    New Dunhill

Be carefull pulling that out of your pipe. Some are secured tightly and could crack or break the stem trying to remove it. Some will unscrew with a bit of gentle twisting, others need a bit of heat applied first. Try doing a bit of research before experimenting.

"Why do people smoke $20 cigars?"

Maybe off topic, but I find lately that $20 will buy me a 1/2 pound of very good pipe tobacco that last me 1-2 months. That $20 sitck is gone in a hour. Now don't take this wrong as I still enjoy my cigars. Looking at the cost= reward factor has got me thinking.

    Moist tobacco

Quick and easy tobacco moisture check: Pinch a bit between your fingers, If it sticks togather, too moist. If it springs apart, just right. If it crumbles, to dry. Now, if it's too moist, just let it air out a bit. Just right, smoke it! To dry, toss it. Pipe tobacco is cheap compared to...

I'm going to be controversial here and ask

I think you answered the question yourself. It's the fact they chose to put themselves in harms way. Less than 1% of the population in the US has the courage to do what they are doing, be it Military, Police or Fire Fighters. When we loose one of these men or women it's a tragedy because they...
