Do a Google search on it. There are a lot of hits. Many reviews (most of them unfavorable). It was distilled at Mannochmore Distillery. It is no longer made by my understanding. It is available, but I think only in the UK. Prices I have seen are upwards of $150 a bottle. My own experience...

Great review, Ray. Personally, I like hearing about these 'hard to find', 'no longer made', 'have to work hard to seek them out' gems. It's like a rare or hard to find cigar...the hunt is half the fun.

I purchased some of these... I have them from about eight different distilleries. I also picked some up from Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill while in Kentucky. I love'em. :thumbs:

You are right on many counts. I should have mentioned the Binny's pricing (good until the 26th of this month). You are also right about the $50-$60 range...many more that I would turn to at that range. Sorry for the confusion.

Great review!!! I tried some outstanding whiskies over that weekend and the Dalwhinnie was far and away my favorite. To my experience, it was easily the most unique. The sour apple was over the top. Ray, thanks for making such a treat available to us at the herf.

That is pretty typical with this bourbon. It only comes out once or twice a year and then only on allocation. It is not something that can just be ordered...typically. October (after the Bourbon Festival) would be the next release date. Check and see what you local place is allocated for.

Have to agree with AVB on this one. Does not sound anything like the Talisker 10 YO that I have. I would describe it as very full bodied...big flavor. For me, it actually overpowers a cigar. Smoky and spicy both. Good stuff when I want something to drink and drink alone. Hmmm, of course...
