Received your package today. Handled carefully. Explosion contained to blow out toward the street. Nice show knifeman.! Now, what the hell is it? I think I know, but am not sure. Thanks again, brother.

Ha! You have warned me. Given me time to break out the Kevlar, climb into the bathtub, etc. :sign: Seriously, completely unnecessary, but most appreciated. Thanks.

    Counterfeits

I agree with this as well. I have some friends who get their Cuban cigars from "a guy." Some of them are real...some of them are absolutely not. I just send them the real thing to compare. They now know what to and what not to ask for. They mentioned this to me...I never had to bring it up.

about to start a new chapter in my life.

Congratulations, Marc. Good luck with the shop. I'll be sure to stop by if I am ever in the DFW area.

Happy Birthday, Moki. Smoke something special.

    Partagas Petit Coronas

What Patrick said. Easily my favorite PC. Have three boxes...all from 98. They are flavorful, well constructed, and extremely complex. Fan-damn-tastic smokes. The Party Shorts, while good cigars, don't have anywhere near the complexity of these. They are much more...

    Avo LE5

Just a quick update. Everyone who PMed me is taken care of. I will be sending PMs out later today with information (totals, address, etc.). Just to let you know, I think it absolutely made my local guy's morning. Thanks! BTW, the cigars look and smell great. Fact is, I think this...

    Newbie to cubans

You've not violated any forum rules. Good questions all. Just remember, it is illegal for you to buy, own, or consume any Cuban products...this includes cigars. So the answer to the above question is no, it is not legal. The second part is immaterial since the answer to the first is no, but...

    Cuban box code decoder

The information that I have says that they are made at the Holguin facility in the Pinar del Rio. I could be dated, though.

    Avo LE5

OK, I love the Avo LE5, but I always thought it was just a little overpriced. My local guy got in about 8 boxes, but they just didn't move very well for him. He is looking to reduce his stock. So, he has reduced the price to $8 a stick. Yep, that's right, I said $8 a stick. That comes to...

    Hemingway Signature Maduro

Love the signature maduros. However, $14 is way too high for these. Bought a box around X-Mas time for $180. $14 a stick is almost twice. If you taxes are very high, I can see some increase, but that is a little much.

Do You Know Of Any Unusual Last Names?

Growing up, knew a guy in my hometown named Hiney Peter. He didn't like to be called Harry, either. Also went to school with a guy named Justin Case. His parents were cruel people.

LGC Medaille D`or No.1 Your opinion please

I have not had the No. 1, but have smoked the No. 2. I agree with Alex, none of the cigars you listed for comparison are even close. IMHO, the No. 2 is a fantastic mild-to-medium first cigar of the day or morning cigar. It goes great with a cup of coffee and a clean palate. The flavors are...

    Everyday pours

Thanks for the information, AVB. I try to keep some scotches around the house for friends. I'll have to look for these to fill the "low-end-of-the-spectrum" needs.

    Cigar Aficionado....

Cigar Aficionado has changed a lot in the past few years. Much less about cigars and more about the "good life." That said, they still have reviews, the cigar diary, decent interviews with cigar personalities, and the reviews of aged/vintage cigars. All good stuff. The main magazine is not...

    Perdomo ESV 1991 Vintage

I'm going to go the opposite way here, Emo. I thought the naturals were creamy and tasty. I found the maduros to be flat. Not bad, just flat...no flavor. The best of the bunch are the Cameroons in the tubes. I have had two sizes (there are at least 2 sizes, don't know if there are more) and...

    What did you smoke today

Pretty good weekend of smoking. Let's see: Thursday at the regular herf: CoRo ('98) - fantastic flavors, but the draw was very tight :0 Padron Anniverary 1964 Corona Maduro - not much else to say here :D Saturday at the Lake: SLR PC (ENE00) - yummy little morning smoke with my coffee; quite...

    Pryme Gold Series

I have smoked my way through about 1/2 a box of the R100s (robustos). LC hit it on the head, mild to medium bodied, very subtle flavors. It is a great morning cigar on a clean palate. All of the Prymes that I have smoked have been very well constructed and smoked great. I would, however, be...

    Need a recommendation (Expresso Flavor)

If he must smoke an infused cigar, get him to try the Espesso or the Capuchino (sp?) by Bahia. Both are actually decently constructed. Frankly, those are the only ones that I can even remotely recommend. I think JR has a cigar out called Mocha, but I don't know anything about it. I tasted...
