Are you a bubbly drinker on New Years?

I'll imbibe the traditional glass at midnight New Year's and at weddings. I prefer rose over cuvee, but am rarely given that option. Gonna be Scotch the rest of the evening. Light on the Scotch. Gotta wake up early and bright eyed to tailgate the Rose Bowl and be able to make it to my seat...

    "Free" Internet Phone Service

Again, beyond my needs and I only quickly skimmed through it, but it seemed that the Ooma premier package looked to be a good fit for your stated needs. Worth a look, perhaps.

    "Free" Internet Phone Service

It appears doable, but at the "premier" service level. $100 a year. The second line should be "free" with the premier level, and can go up to 9 lines it seems. Comes with some nifty other features too. Features I wouldn't mind having for free, but just wouldn't get used enough by me to...

    "Free" Internet Phone Service

Yeah, for a $40 fee. I was too cheap for even that. I've recently moved and took on a new number. It was too new for me to become attached to it. The $40 porting fee is waived if you sign up for their "premier" service which runs something like $100 a year. Again, the "premier" service...

    "Free" Internet Phone Service

I have zero affiliation with this service. I stumbled on it while Christmas internet shopping, and after judicious research, pulled the trigger. It's now in my home and I love it. Ooma website Ooma for sale on Amazon. Amazon has it for $204 shipped now. It was $220 shipped when I bought...

    Interesting article about David Spade

I am no fan of many laws of moral turpitude, commonly known as "vice laws". They are often Puritanical in origin and many times have no purpose other than to control the "immoral" actions of others - a highly subjective criterion. That being said, I would argue your example of "truly...

    Interesting article about David Spade

There are two points to address here: (1) Why isn't there a need for a "military-style raid"? Because he's the mayor? I readily concede your point that he is the mayor and is thus more apt to have ties to the community and is therefore less likely to skip town. But what about preservation of...

    Poor Man's PLPCs and BCEs

Good luck with your experiment. At the prices they went for, they would have to be absolutely horrid to not be worth the investment. I plan on going through my inventory of them throughout the year as casual "it's all I have time for" cigars.

    Interesting article about David Spade

And based on the articles linked therein, you are constructing a case for arming upstanding local citizens with assault rifles instead of police? I have seen the first article linked several times now across several different boards as a purported sign of police ineptitude. The mayor had a 32...

    Gonna start Home Brewing

I prefer a pre-chiller and immersion chiller combo over a counterflow or plate chiller. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm used to it - and cheap, as both were acquired on the cheap. The pre-chiller helps quickly bring the wort down to pitching temp.

    San Cristobal Muralla

A visually stunning cigar with a full rich flavor. One of the very few exceptions to my vow of no longer purchasing double banded Habanos. Thank you for the review.

Honey baked ham stores - never again!

We each have our strengths, and cooking is not one of mine. My hat goes off to those who can take an ordinary pumpkin and turn it into a great tasting pumpkin pie. I know very few people who can and do. I don't see much difference between a store bought pie and one made from cans of fillings...

You ain't going to believe this

Sounds too hardcore to be a prank, but you never know with kids. Did someone mention this was a dormitory setting? Anything goes in those environments, but it still seems a bit hardcore even then. It's more likely the thieves took something not immediately noticeable as missing.... and then...

Honey baked ham stores - never again!

You may wanna chalk this experience up to routine holiday crowding and reconsider the Costco alternative. FWIW, I went to Costco on Thanksgiving eve and my experience echoed yours. I pulled pie duty this year. I stood in line for nearly 1 1/2 hours to pick up pies and then spent over 1/2 an...

    I have sad news.

I've been off the boards for a while and it is to my extreme sadness this is my first thread I am reading upon my return. I always thought I might call upon Brian the next time I drove down to the San Diego area for pleasure. That time never came, and now it never will in time for us to have...
