CC is right about the SLR Serie A and the RG CE. They are very tasty. ..that reminds me - gotta go order more SLR Serie A and RG CE ...

I like some of the German wheat beers, but as emodx mentioned, Pilsner Urquell is an excellent beer anytime. I LOVE the saaz hop that they use.

When I end up in those situations, I just try to be discreet, and "partake" when the smoke won't offend anyone. But I don't hide the fact that I smoke cigars - hey, that's part of who I am. Family just has to accept it. Most of them have habits or other idiosyncracies worse than mine anyway...
