    First ISOMs

Well, I've been in Montreal on business since Sunday, so I decided to cave and pay Canada's ridiculous prices for a couple of the forbidden fruit. Decided on a San Cristobal El Principe ($15cdn) and a Partagas Serie D #4 ($27cdn - hey, I feel lucky, they wanted $70cdn for an Opus X single)...

    Dealing with high ambient humidity?

It has been a concern of mine, for sure. Right now I have few enough cigars that I basically check them every day to make sure there're no signs of beetle activity. I still only have one tupperdor, so it's not the pain it would be if I had boxes and boxes. Not the ideal situation, for sure...

Noobs what's in your humi right now

Not a complete list, but here's what I remember off the top of my head: AF Don Carlos #3 (2) Torano Signature (2) Torano Exodus Gold (2) HdM Excalibur H. Upmann Vintage Camaroon (restoring from dry, may be garbage) CAO L'anniversary Aristoff Black LFD El Jocko Mad Montecruz Negra Cubana...

    5,000 post contest

Wow, nice setup. Puts my humble rig to shame, I'm running the baby Music Hall mmf2.1 w/ it's included Goldring cartridge. That OC-9 cartridge sure gets a lot of positive user reviews though, if I ever upgrade to MC I'll definitely be checking it out.

    JR Alt's Bolivar Corona

I hear JR Ultimates are worth trying too, especially the oscuro/double maduro ones. I think they sell a 5-pack of torps for $12. Just FYI, I haven't tried these yet, but they're on my list since my budget lies in that direction too.

    5,000 post contest

That's quite a collection; probably 4X what I have, very nice. Any particular genre you favor? I collect mostly classical as I've found it's easier to get LPs in good condition (and I like the music). Whata do you use to play them?

    My first PAM64

Excellent, I have one of these (from a very generous CPer) in my humi waiting for a special occasion. I'm thinking about picking a few more up for something big I know is coming, but can't decide between the PAM and PAN versions. It seems most on the forums I read prefer PAMs; while in print...

    5,000 post contest

Well, guess I'll play: 3128 or 5349 Thanks for the contest; in a related note, do you listen to vinyl? I've been collecting the past few years, and I'm amazed at how much life is in this supposeedly "dead" format.

    What's your favorite German Beer?

Can't believe it's taken me this long to find the beer forum... Anyway, I have to second the vote for hefeweizen. I like almost all that I've tried, but of the ones available in the US Franziskaner is my favorite.

    Carlos Torano Reserva Selecta?

As a cigar newbie, I really liked the one I had a few weeks ago; a Churchill, Maduro. I suspect it will not be the Torano of choice for those going after a full-bodied flavor, it struck me as being on the milder side. Since I'm new, that's just fine with me, as I haven't developed a taste for...

    $4.00 a gallon

I see high-test for $3.20/gal here in Ithaca as of today, 87 is somewhere around $2.90. I can't tell you how typical that is of the rest of upstate, but there it is.

Classic. I don't know you, me being new, but I just noticed you're up in Rochester, so greetings from a fellow Western Upstater (such lovely weather we're having, isn't it?). I think you're probably the closest CPer to me (Ithaca).

    Dealing with high ambient humidity?

Well, despite all the disagreement on this issue it seems a slim majority is in favor of switching to beads :p . Looks like my initial tupperdor size estimation was a bit small anyway, it's already time for a bigger box. So I'll be setting that up w/ beads for sure.

Newbie here; after watching this unfold and reading some of the board's back history, I just have to say I've never seen a forum that shuts down e-thugs, trolls, and scammers more effectively than this one :0 . And I don't mean that in a bad way. (I just hope I don't ever screw up myself) :sign:

    Dealing with high ambient humidity?

Hello, What (if anything) do you guys typically do w/ your humidification when the ambient humidity goes beyond 70%? I have a modest sized tupperdor, using a ci-gel jar for RH control, which has been pretty good so far. The ambient humidity has been almost 100% here for the past few days...

Wow, lots of people from PA/NJ/NY! Tell me about it. I can't complain too much though, I do alright, considering. We work on the other end of the life cycle, assembly & budding. You go to any of the regular retrovirus meetings (eg CSH)? Indeed I am; it's crazy here, the...

Yeah, it's too late; I already know about c-bid, so there's trouble brewing :whistling: . I just don't know what to buy. Yet. On a more serious note, I don't want to take advantage of people here. I've just completed a NST on another board, it would seem to be of questionable etiquette for...

Thanks, will do; I just noticed you're near Pitts, I spent 4 years there @ CMU for my undergraduate from 1997-2001. Great town, I miss it.
