    Give me Rye whiskey

Two of my favorite mixed drinks are the mint julep and the mojito. For the mint julep I use Beam Rye and for my mojito's I use Appleton White rum. Sometimes I get into this mode where I think "more expensive is better." So I often mentally hesitate to use these two under $20.00 dollar...

PADRON 1964 PRINCIPES Maduro & ROCKY PATEL 1990 VINTAGE TORPEDO

Well I had my first Padron 64 today. :) :) ..... and it was Delicious! Awesome smoke. I have to say, I enjoyed the last quarter the most... I didn't want it to end. I was smoking it on my front porch and my neighbor walked by. He must have thought I was smoking a blunt the way I was pinching it...

    Pairing to WildTurkey Russels Reserve

I'm not a big fan of WT, but I've never tried the RR. But I might just go and buy myself some Eagle Rare 10 single barrel after some of the above comments. :) I know what I'm getting with ER. LFD sounds good. :) Thanks.

    Pairing to WildTurkey Russels Reserve

The family is having a get together Easter. I thought I would buy a bottle of Wild Turkey Russel's Reserve. I've never tried it before. I absolutely can not stand Wild Turkey 80 or 101. But I'm hoping Russel's Reserve will be more to my liking. Anywho... I'm trying to think of a good cigar or...

    Humidifier for 28qt cooler

Should I order the Heartfelt discs or just the beads? What should I put the beads in and how often will I have to change them? How often will I have to add water? How about the fan question?

    Humidifier for 28qt cooler

I'm getting ready to start using my coolerdor. It's a small 28qt one. I figure I'll hold about 6 boxes and a tray for singles. I don't figure on storing that many cigars. My local cigar shop has little clear disk gel humidifiers. They're a little bigger then a baby food jar. It seems like all...

    Need some help

Hey all, just a quick question. I'm going to the store today to pick up a couple of singles. I'm still trying to decide on my first box purchase. I really like The Avo #2's. But they are a little too expensive for me. So I'm trying to find another, little less expensive, light and mild cigar...

    Partagas Black Label

I just put away a Partagas Black sent to me by Dulaney22. So I thought I would right up a little review. First Impressions I'm not sure on which cigar this was from the series, I think it might have been a Magnifico? 6x54. It has a Connecticut Habano wrapper with a sun-grown La Vega Especial...

Just finished this Humidor for a fellow BOTL here.

My father has a wood working shop in his back yard. He works with wood almost every day. It's his passion. Although he smokes every day, he only smokes Dutch Masters, so he doesn't need a Humi. But I should ask him to make me one. Anyway...... A REAL WORK OF ART! That is definitely going to...

    There is a God!

So all day today I had been thinking about making me a Guinness Black and Tan. So Earlier I was by my Computer and I see the mailman drop a package off in the mailbox and it dawned on me that Dulaney22 told me he was going to send me some Partagas Blacks. I had gotten a really tight one from my...

ROCKY PATEL 1992 and 1990 VINTAGE

I really like both the ROCKY PATEL 1992 and 1990 VINTAGE Series cigars. So I was wondering if anyone might have any suggestions on what other brands might be close to these in comparison?

    Aging cigars with spices?

I know this might seem like a weird question and don't get me wrong. I really like natural cigars. But I was in my local cigar shop today looking at silicon beads, which happened to be right next to the pipe tobacco. I've always loved pipe tobacco. I also love spiced chai tea. I make my own...

    Padron 1926 Natural : No. 2

Someone told me that the 26's age very well, they smooth and mellow out more, whereas the 64's get a little more powerful with aging. Any comments..... I've been looking at both of these for my "special occasion" smokes.

Cusano 18 Double Natural and Maduro

Hey all, I thought that I would do a small little review on these two Cigars. I have found that I really enjoy the Rocky Patel Vintage series and the Avo Classics and Maduro's. I find that these two brands for myself are exactly what I'm looking for in a Cigar. Nice flavor, very mild and...

What kind of Glue in my Coolerdor?

Hey all, Well I picked up a small cooler today along with a cheep humidity gauge. I also picked up some empty cigar boxes from my local Cigar Store. So I have some questions before I start to set up my Coolerdor. 1. I was thinking about lining the sides with cedar sheets, what type of glue...

Getting the plasticky smell out of a new wine cooler?

Here is what it says on the above pinned thread "cooldor 101" "prep the box for cigars. To do this, pour ¼ cup non-scented bleach into the cooler, and then fill it with water. Let the cooler stand over night. Dump the water out in the morning, and let the cooler sit in the sun all day while you...
