    Green Cigars vs. Green Beer

Yeah, thats why I included the links.  Pretty wild.         I've only had the Don Thomas, but I definitely get the grassy flavor people talk about.  They are undeniably unique.

    Green Cigars vs. Green Beer

Is anybody breaking out a candela for St. Patrick's Day?  I bought a box of Don Thomas a few years back for a St. P's Party, and still have a few left.  Some of my friends compare green cigars to green beer though (gimicky).  I, personally, think they're an interesting change of pace.  I...

    Interesting Articles on Cuba...

Thanks for sharing!  I've been reading a book about the Bacardi family and the history of Cuba, so I found the articles of particular interest.

    Smoking Room, just do it

When I lived in a house with a hot tub, I did enjoy year round smoking.  I'm not sure I'd call it the ideal cigar smoking environment, but as an experience, its hard to beat.

    Switching it up

I got into some El Dorado 15 today.  I'm not really a regular rum drinker, but I'm going to have to throw this into the rotation.  Its dry for a rum, and its got a lot of the traditional flavors one usually associates with bourbon.  You certainly know its rum while drinking it though.  I wrote...

    Smoking Room, just do it

Exactly.  I used to have fabric curtains in my office.  I had to spray them pretty often, or run my ozone machine a lot, but I made it work.  When I switched to wood blinds, it made a world of difference.  That said, you can get by with some fabric, but the less the better.

    Smoking Room, just do it

One more suggestion is to remove as many fabrics as you can from the room.  Leather couches, wood blinds, no rugs or curtains, etc.

what is the best way to get rid of cigar smoke aroma in your car?

I've never heard of ozium or odorcide, but those sound promising.   We bought my wife a car a long time ago from someone that smoked in the car.  The philly blunts left in the glovebox led me to believe it may have been more than just cigarettes.  It was in pretty bad shape, cigarette burns in...

    Smoking Room, just do it

The room I'm in does not have any returns, but if yours does, that could get you into hot water with any cohabiters.  The location of my house's returns did factor into smoking room selection.  Thanks for bringing it up!

    A CP Thank You

Its actually the first link on my links and friends page.     Thanks!  As I recall, you introduced me to montes and helped me out with some #2s on more than one occasion.

    A CP Thank You

I had a good day at work the other day, and decided to celebrate with a cigar.  I went to my humidor (coolidor), and found a stick at the bottom labeled,  "grateful1 2008."  When I first joined CP, I labeled the cigars I got from the newbie sampler trades, and then a few subsequent trades.  That...

    Smoking Room, just do it

Thats exactly the kind of simple solution I'm talking about.  I hope other people see this post and realize they may not need a fancy solution.

    Smoking Room, just do it

When I first joined CP, I was intimated by all the fancy smoking rooms, and ideas about hepa filtration, high cfm fans, etc. It took me a long time, but I finally just tried smoking my house. I lit up in my office. It wasn't the end of the world. I've since created a system that gets rid of the...

    Civil Cigar Lounge

I've been meaning to get to Civil. About Shelly's, I love it, but it is fairly old fashioned I guess. I've never heard the term hunting lodge used pejoratively, but to each their own. Thanks for the heads up the on the cocktails. I'm even more inclined to visit. Welcome to DC, and congrats!

    Dominoes

Those are the ones I was looking at.  Very similar to the one at casa del habano.   Doc - never tried cribbage, but played plenty of card games.  I'll have to see if anybody I know can teach me.

    Dominoes

Nice tables too.  I've been looking at them online.  I think one might make my xmas list this year.

    Dominoes

Anybody like to play dominoes while they smoke?  I was just on vacation in Cancun, and David at La Casa Del Habano introduced me to the pastime.  If you haven't tried it, but have a set and some friends, I'd give it a try.

    Trip Overseas...

Not sure if you've gone/returned yet, but Johnnie Walker has as a few explorers club special editions out right now.  The duty free I was in recently let you try them first.  I was able to try to gold route and spice road ones.  Both were pretty interesting.

Talisker 10 yo Scotch from Skye

This is the first Scotch to wow me in a long time, and here in the Mid-Atlantic/South, its getting to be Scotch drinking weather again so I thought I'd dig up this old thread. I got a bottle from a friend about two months ago, and I only have a couple glasses left until its time to go grab...

    Sweet Tea Vodka

Its certainly a crowd pleaser. Anytime I'm at a party and there are a couple handles of the usual suspects (jack, smirnoff, bacardi, etc), if there is a handle of firefly it is always the first to go. I've tried it straight and with water, and I'm not a huge fan, but I'll drink it with some...
