Wow, I just got my package from Johnny-O, which shipped for FL YESTERDAY and arrived in CA today.
Thanks Johnny!
Bros in on this pound, I'll get the packages out tomorrow...
Just recieved 2 GL Pease samplers direct for C&D today, and could not resist trying out a bowl on my lunch break.
So I rubbed out a scant bowl of 'Filmore' and loaded up. Its been many years since I've smoked a pressed-flake, but the pack went much easier than I remember and the initial lights...
Always good to here from you MC!
I went to school and lived for a few years after in Santa Cruz, and there is a great out-of-the way B&M in the neighboring town of Soquel called 'Bay Brair.' If you're in Santa Cruz again it is certainly worth a stop. Their selection isn't great, but the vibe...
Took it out for a maiden voyage last nightwith a big bowl of Grey Havens as I wanted something w/ burly and my can of Haddo's Delight is a hair too moist still.
A few very interesting observations (to me anyway:)
I've previously only smoked Cobs, basket-briars, and a cheap-o meer. They all...
The pics that Gail sent me didn't do it justice...
I can't seem to put it down, and I've been getting some weird looks from my coworkers as I sit in my cube and pretend to smoke it...
I can't wait to fire it up tonight!

Hi Times Liquor is a bit of a drive in Newport Beach (right by where the 55 ends) but the store is amazing.
One of the biggest humidors that I've been to in OC, and more booze than you can shake a stick at. Makes bevmo look like 7-11
It doesn't have the sleepy bear on the tin that I remember my last tin having (in '97) so the packaging is at least different.
Those Dunhill tins are a real challenge to get open. You certainly need a pipe-load to relax after attacking one.
Which ones did you get?!
I'm very tempted to call them first thing tomorrow morning to try and snag that 'Worm Hole Wizard' but I feel weird about buying a 2nd pipe sight unseen before the first even shows up...
Just got off the phone with Dan after getting a couple emails from Gail over the weekend. JM turned out a beautiful pipe that they gave me first shot at, and I just couldn't say no:
I'm not sure what I'm smoking on Turkeyday...
Conoju 2003, Anejo 55, PSD4, and DPG Blue Lancero are all in the running. I'm down to just a couple of Opus, and I'll save those for Christmas.
As for turkey tips. You gotta brine the bird! The Alton Brown roast turkey recipe has been teh winner...
