Here are some of my bacon creations.... I'll post more as I make them from time to time (decided to branch out of this thread)
Baconweave, egg and cheese sandwiches:
Baconweave salmon over a bed of shredded brusselsprouts with carmelized onions and bacon:

Give this a try:
Mix 1 cup brown sugar with soy sauce til well moistened, slather the mix on your venison and marinate an hour or so.
Wrap with bacon, and place on a broiler pan into a preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes. (depending on the size/cut and desired doneness)

To clean my meer, I bend a pipe cleaner into a loop for the bowl, and then run one (carefully) through the stem. I also use a paper towel in it after every few bowls.
I actually prefer my meerschaum to my briars, and I don't find it to be high-maintenance at all. In fact it's much more 'forgiving' as it always smokes cool and even, so I don't have to pay as much attention as I do when smoking the briar pipes.
