Safest shipper? In my experience, that would be Fedex Express, not Fedex Ground.
Fedex Express only flies packages on airplanes. Fedex Ground is a trucking company like UPS.
Judging from the condition of my arriving packages, they are on opposite ends of the spectrum.
YMMV. :D
Cold chocolate milk? Yeah, I can understand that. My drink of choice with a Padron 5000 maddie is usually an iced mocha from Starbucks. It pairs nicely and contains coffee (espresso), cream, and chocolate.
However, next time I'll have to try a Diet Coke.
I switched to 65% beads two years ago and absolutely love them.
Since these 65% beads struggle during the winter to maintain 60%, I have been thinking about keeping a couple of 70% pucks around to use in the winter, hoping to maintain 65%.
Anyone else use different RH beads in the winter?
Appreciate the link, Buzzed. I didn't see that thread earlier.
I'll just tell my brother to throw his sealed tubes inside the humi and he can now start buying non-tubed cigars.
Thanks for the replies.
Just picked up a nice Xikar humidor today to become my new "overflow" humi. Decided to give an older, smaller Diamond Crown humidor to my brother for his birthday next month. He doesn't own a humidor and typically only keeps about a dozen cigars around, all sealed in metal tubes. Don't worry...
I enjoyed a tall, iced mocha latte with a HDM dark sumatra Media Noche on my front porch as the sun was setting last night. Very nice pairing!
Cigar in one hand...rubbing the lab's head with the other.
You mean besides the obvious fact that there is quite a bit of humor in this thread and it needed to be revived?
Judging from the posts after mine, it seems like it has revived nicely...don't you think?
TugBoat, if it's actual lighting instructions that you need, hang on...I'll go take a pic...
Flame??? Pfffft...You don't need no stinkin' flame.
A real man just uses a bent coat-hanger that's touching both the battery terminals of his pickup truck. :D
You know, I had a similar experience in Dallas a few weeks ago, at a steakhouse called IIIForks. (3 forks)
I passed on their $75 OpusX robusto, (thankfully, I had brought one of mine..LOL ) but the $40 pepper-encrusted ribeye was to die for.
I realize the $$ mark-up is excessive...
I guess I should have mentioned in my initial post that I've smoked at least 50 different cigars this past year, all with my usual Corona and without finding that perfect pairing that I hoped for.
Now, I certainly don't intend to give up Coronas when I want a beer...but, I'll stick to...
After spending the last year unsuccessfully trying to find a cigar that complimented my favorite drink (Corona beer w/lime wedge), I finally read here that cigars and citrus aren't a good match. Ok, now I feel like an idiot but realize that it's time to find a new "front-porch" drink that I can...
Holy crap! Mites...something new to worry about!
THAT is exactly why every cigar shipment that comes into my house goes through the "freezer routine" before they even see my humidor. That goes for ISOM's, OpusX, etc...all the way down to Connie #9's.
I like the way you think! I have two Ashton 858's tucked away in the bottom of my humidor for the day (far in the future, I hope) when my 9-year-old daughter gets engaged. In my mind, I can imagine that her fiance and I will share a special cigar and a fine single malt on that occasion.
Now, I...
Actually, for the cleanest possible light try a magnifying glass and the mid-day sun. ;)
Now if that option isn't available, feel free to do what we did in high school...a coat hanger touching both battery terminals on a '75 AMC Pacer. :D
There's more...but I have no memory of it...
