So, I am in LA until next Tuesday and was looking to try a few beers while I am here that I can't get in the stores back in good ol' Indiana. I am a pretty big fan of IPA's which is good since CA is a big brewer of that style. So, does anyone have suggestions on what I should try while I am...
Another thing to consider is timing. If you "have" to fill up the house completely within a week you are going to spend more money. Just like with anything else, if you can wait you will happen upon a deal on a couch, and then a few months later you can find a deal on something else you may be...
Picked up a sixer of Long Hammer IPA but haven't had one of them yet. I haven't had one and after I bought it I checked out the reviews on BA.. doesn't look like it is anything to get too excited about. :(
Ahhhh.. thanks for the help here! I didn't really understand what Brickhouse was trying to say in the context of the message to Andros until you put it this way! :) Thanks for Andros-lating it to me!
Whew.. sounds like somebody has been a busy! I am going to bottle my Arrogant Bastard (kit) clone tonight. I got plenty of bottles, I need to brew again soon so I can keep the cycle going.
Thanks for the input guys. I decided to try one last night. It had been too long since I had a cigar so I figured I would give it a go since there weren't a bunch of people saying to let them lay for a year or anything. :) Pulled out an Indian Tabac since they cheap enough smokes. The burn...
Interesting looking beginning, very unique design. What is the approximated capacity of the finished cabinet? Looking forward to seeing the progress on it!
Not many would! It takes a special breed to think of this and the same breed to truly appreciate it for what it is....
Thinking outside the box that is pure brilliance, I think he may have found the future trend that the cigar industry will follow!
I would agree with this. The very fact that instead of advertising the amount of nicotine in them and there is only one available flavor - "cigar like" kind of defeats the purpose. This could be a great product for those guys that suck down a pack or two of Phillies or Black 'n' Milds every...
So, early last week in northern Indiana we got a bit of rain. When I say we got a bit of rain we got a good 6+ inches of rain within a few hours. So around noon I get a call from my wife that we are getting some water in from a window in the basement. I come home over my lunch break and go...
That's just awesome.. glad to see you gave it a go. Looks like you had a pretty even burn on both ends all things considered. I think to smoke it most effectively you would almost need to cut a longer slit than a punch... might have to do a little more research. Good job though, love to see...
The Olde World Reserves are a nice solid smoke. I have tried some of his other stuff as well. His lines to me seem to be fairly consistent good smokes, not normally a ton of complexity, but overall pretty solid. I have not tried the Fumas that you mentioned.
I didn't have a hydrometer when I did my first couple of batches, but then I did pick one up from a friend along with some other equipment who used to make his own wine. However, since I hadn't previously had any problems, I just kinda skipped over the gravity reading steps, but per your...
Yeah, I have always cheated and not done gravity readings.... haven't done too many batches though and they turned out alright. I have no problems waiting a couple weeks... general consensus would be 2 weeks in a primary and no secondary? Thanks for the help.
