So you remembered your password? I'm doing great PB, hope you are too. Things aren't the same around here without you. But we did get a replacement post padder that put a serious hurt on your post total. :p
There are lots of good starter kits but this one is the best I've seen so far. It has glass primary and secondary fermenters which is something most starter kits don't have. Also I would upgrade to the auto-siphon for 5 extra clams. You'll need to add a brewpot to that kit if you don't already...
If I had another right now, I'd give it to you. I think PB's non-plus might have come from me. I vaguely remember dropping one in his pass.
How's PB doing anyway? Tell him I said hi and that we all miss him.
My other great passion is homebrewing and I've been thinking lately how homebrewing and cigars go together. For example, one of my traditions is to enjoy a nice cigar during the boil - which is really the only relaxing part of making beer despite what Charlie Papazian says. :p
I hang out on...
My retirement plan is to win the Powerball....I'm starting to think I need a plan B.
Congrats, Shadow. You'll have lots of time now to learn all grain brewing (c'mon....you know you wanna).
This is a continuation of a discussion that started in the Lobby. But it was getting seriously off-topic so I though it best if I spawned a new thread for it. Anyway, we left off with me worried that my first all-grain batch was ruined by an infected yeast starter and LuckyDawg impressed by the...
LD, I've moved our beer discussion over to the Saloon. It was getting into full-on threadjacking so I figured it'd be best in order to stay on Charlie's good side to move it.
I never liked doing it in the kitchen. All those sharp things lying around....
Well it's supposed to be a clone of Geary's Pale Ale. Uses a base of 8 lbs. of pale ale malt, some 55L crystal and some chocolate (malt that is). Has a nice mixture of classic British hops (Fuggles), German (Tettnanger) and American (Cascade & Mt. Hood) with 4 additions plus a dry hop. Looks...
Well, if you decide to come over to the dark side (the other one) let me know. I can help you get started. It's easier than you think. My batch today went very well....up until I pitched the yeast. I smelled my yeast starter and it was sour. I pitched it anyway but now I'm regretting it. In 15...
Yeah, I'm pretty excited. I've been brewing beer using extracts for 15 years. Today I'm finally going to take the plunge and make beer from nothing but malted barley, hops, yeast and water...just like the big boys. I've been collecting and building the equipment for the last couple of months and...
Oh, and I put Snake's 2 Opii in there as 60 and 61. Off to the PO this morning.....Joe I hope you appreciate it. I was gonna brew beer this morning but God forbid you get your package a day later. :p
Not sure I understand the question. There is no "point" at which they start drying out. The less the humidity the drier the cigars. You can leave your cigars at 65% indefinately and they'll smoke (and taste) great. It's especially true for Havanas but also true of nons.
Don't worry. Since 9-11 it takes a long time for boxes to make it out the door of the NYC post offices. We've run into this several times in passes going through NY.
Got the supplemental package today. I have a question for the pass master. Should I try to get it out tomorrow morning or should I keep it over the weekend so that it doesn't have to sit at the post office all weekend?
