In my experience there are really 3 reasons. Both of which everyone has already stated.
1.)Poor construction and lower end cigars.
2.)I am a little tipsy and I wack off more of the cap than I should. This however does not effect the higher quality smokes as much in my opinion.

Very good question. Also not an easy one to answer. For me I have not had ever variation of each so my knowledge of both is not top notch. For my money so far I would go for the Padron. I am more of a Bold flavor man than I am power and they seem to be more consistant at that for me. Just my 2...
