Lagavulin 16 yo Single Islay Malt

Nice review AVB. The Lag 16 is great stuff. Powerful yet smooth, with all the characteristics typical of Islay Scotch. I usually don't drink Lag in the summer months, but as the cooler evenings of Autumn roll around, this Scotch seems to be in my glass quite often.

    Laphroaig Quater Cask

Very nice review AVB. This is just a fantastic dram. In my experiences a couple drops of water really makes this stuff EXPLODE! One of the very few Scotches that I enjoy more than the OB Laphroaig 10 year-old. It may be my favorite Scotch period. Here's my review from last August...

    Stocking the Bar

I don't know of many people who stock a full bar. My bar gets populated a little at a time. I may buy a bottle of sipping rum when I'm in the mood for sipping rum. I may have a some people over to watch a game and tell them I'm making mojitos. So go out and get some mixing rum. My wife has the...

    Samuel Adams Brewer Patriot Collection

I've tried two of the four. The Ginger Honey Ale was very nice. I could drink a ton of these on a warm summer day. The Root Beer Brew was most foul. Couldn't finish it either. I drink Sambuca regularly yet I could not stomach this stuff at all. After seeing Casa's reviews of the other two I...

    gamelover2004

Come on Bill, you're better than that. This is the same type of thing that happened on Cigar Snobs and derailed the Trainwreck from it's original destination. Ligero and Van were attacked on a board where they weren't even members. (I realize Van is a member here.) Everybody knows Gamelover is a...

    Looking for good, cheap port

Taylor Fladgate 10 year-old Tawny, about $25, and is an amazing Port and great with a cigar. I had it back to back with their 20 year-old and I liked the 10 more than the 20.

    Pulled the trigger

At night, if the air is calm, I can put my ear to the east and I swear I can hear you pacing. Hopefully, it will cool down to the high 80s after tonight. Hang in there, it will be here before you know it. We have central air, so if you need temporary storage for those humidors, you let...

    Flying Dog

I have had two of the Flying Dog brews, (The Hunter Thompson Imperial Porter and the Flying Dog Pale Ale) and I found them unimpressive as well. The porter was downright HORRIBLE and the Pale Ale was very blah. I am a huge fan of Thompson and wanted to like the beer. I tried on two separate...

    Stella Artois

This is the typical European pilsner. Highly carbonated, low hops and no malt flavor. With the international following this beer has, I'd say it's not the same stuff we get here in the states. I can buy a 12-pk of Newcastle for $3 less and get an extra 9.6 oz of beer!
